  1. This doesn't exactly answer your question, but there are a few Mainstream titles on eMusic.
  2. EXCELLENT news, Alisa! Thanks for the update. That's exciting about the performance space, too.
  3. Have a great one with M. Weiss! I'll be thinking of all of you.
  4. Forget MJ and Farah..........SKY SAXON!
  5. Going to see Clapton/Winwood next Monday night. I'm expecting a good show (even thought I hate arena concerts).
  6. If by "pressings" you mean technically, I won't dispute that (although I never had a problem). But if you're referring to the quality of the music, I would disagree. There were a lot of really fine performances either made available through licensing or original pressings. Some really nice albums by the likes of Nat Adderley, Dexter, Great Jazz Trio and many others.
  7. BTW.....I wish we could change this thread title. I think "demise" is very misleading.
  8. KCSM publishes an ongoing playlist online, if anyone's interested in seeing what they play.
  9. Finally got "Fear of a Blank Planet" today. At least I can get to know THAT one before the show.
  10. Wanda was good on Curb Your Enthusiasm, but I haven't seen anything else of hers. She wasn't funny at the White House Correspondents dinner. As for SB Cohen, I'm with Bertrand - I fail to find him the least bit funny.
  11. PayPal on it's way!
  12. Ohhhhhhhhhh. I don't think I'm going to be able to make this one. Sorry, guys.
  13. Thanks for chiming in, Alisa. As I said earlier, your brand of programming is rare............or possibly unique in broadcast radio. Keep it coming.
  14. I have a CD of "The Believer" from the fan club. Definitely a needle drop burn. GREAT album, though.
  15. Exactly. BTW, I've taken a hiatus from the eMusic board, too - for the same reason.
  16. Actually, I'm surprised how many 24/7 or nearly 24/7 jazz stations I come across. That said, many don't even meet the KCSM standard. Non-commercial, too? Really?
  17. I would REALLY like to get to know that 55-minute piece before seeing it live. I kind of hope they don't do it under the circumstances. Phil-ly!! Phil-ly!! Phil-ly!!
  18. I'm not a fan of all the personalities on KCSM, but it's so unusual to have a non-commercial radio station that plays jazz (or some semblance of it) 24/7 that I really appreciate its existence.
  19. So, the album comes out on 9/21? They're playing here on 9/18! What's up with that?
  20. Is Sunn O))) considered "prog"? They have a new album out that was reviewed in the NY Times today. "It all concludes with a pastoral solo from the jazz trombonist Julian Priester, who sounds secure in this setting, almost serene." Whoa!
  21. I hate lists.
  22. I'm going to send them some $$ this week.
  23. Sonny Buxton is one of the treasures of KCSM. Not only great music, but great stories and insight.
