I wasn't originally planning on this, but I DL'd "Five Peace Band Live" based on the review in today's NY Times. Plus, it's only 8 tracks - no biggie.
Looking to the Present While Peeking at the Past
Just got back from Unwigged & Unplugged - an informal retrospective of Spinal Tap, Mighty Wind and Guffman tunes, plus some random videos and "rareties". Quite funny and entertaining!
That was the first GJT album I got.
Agreed - one of the best, too.
BTW, someone (Hank?) must be a baseball fan because several of the covers are photos of baseball players.
I just realized that Fly (Mark Turner, Jeff Ballard, Larry Grenadier) is playing at Yoshi's on Monday. I may have to drag myself out to see them. Got a great write-up in the NY Times recently.
"Members" definitely a good one.
Also, hard to find but "The Loadstar" (w/Billy Harper) on Horo is excellent. I don't think it's ever been released on CD, either.
If you just want to sit still for a while and avoid risk, you could roll it into a Money Market fund somewhere (anywhere). The interest rate is lousy, but you won't lose any money.
Tell us about his hair. Has he changed it?
It was interesting comparing the hair of Beck and Page at the RRHoF show. My guess is that Jeff's would be as white as Jimmy's (if he would let it).
That's interesting because the "new" Gary Duncan Quicksilver plays a fair amount of jazz standards like "Senor Blues", "Maiden Voyage", "A Night in Tunisia", "Round Midnight" and others.
