  8. Arghhhhhhh, JIM! How could you do this? It's hard enough to keep this up in ONE board!
  9. I've got it in my "Save for Later" list on eMusic. Glad to hear that it's good.
  10. FYI - It's now available on eMusic.
  11. RED ALERT!!!! They just added Dave Holland's "Overtime"!
  12. How is that album? They just added it to eMusic, and I was thinking of downloading it.

I think Fez is closed, that's why they moved to Joe's Pub. I saw them about a year ago, too (at Fez). Definitely a lot of fun.
  14. They just added a bunch of Evidence albums, including: Pharaoh Sanders (several - including "Rejoice") Richie Beirach John Hicks Sonny Stitt Kirk Lightsey Phil Woods Roy Haynes Joe Bonner Curtis Lundy Ralph Peterson George Coleman Check it OUT!
  15. I grew up in Santa Barbara. Get some Mexican food at La Super Rica. The Santa Barbara Independant is a pretty good reference for stuff to do there.
  16. I just noticed that on the Official Hendrix website they have several "bootleg" recordings of complete shows that you can stream for FREE. If you click on the "Multimedia" link at the top of the home page and then "Concert Recordings" you will see a list of shows from Madison Square Garden, The Forum, Chicago, Frankfurt and many others. The quality varies from fair to poor, but still a great opportunity to hear some previously unreleased stuff. Check it out.
  17. ... or Haight-Ashbury.
  18. FYI - Guernsey's finally posted the "realized" prices of the auction. You can download a PDF of an Excel file HERE. The only caveat is that the list is by Lot #, and not otherwise identified. So if you don't have the catalog, it won't be much help.
  19. Maybe the "album" IS an aberration. I hadn't thought of that. Still......I like to listen to music in the order that it was released. I usually don't care for "best of's" or collections (not that there's anything WRONG with them. ). FWIW, I just recently picked up the remastered version of Mayall's "Turning Point". I has been a favorite of mine since it came out. Now with the extra tracks.....even better.
  20. Interesting point, Jim. It looks like we may have come full circle on that, actually. With all the downloading and so forth, people seem much more "tune" oriented than "album" oriented. They just load up their iPod/MP3 players, put them on "shuffle" (or a customized "playlist"), and listen to a set of previously unrelated songs. Having discovered music in the mid-to-late 60's, I grew up with the rise of FM radio and album-oriented listening. I guess that's why I still prefer to listen that way. I always like to think that there is some method to the producer's/artist's madness when putting together a set of tunes.
  21. Great album! Doesn't change my vote, though.
  22. If you like Jack Bruce, then "Harmony Row" is a masterpiece, IMO. I'm a BIG fan, but admitidly, his music is not for everyone. Songs for a Tailor is a classic in its own right. Some tunes to listen to are: "Never Tell Your Mother she's Out of Tune" with L'Angelo Misterioso on guitar (a/k/a George Harrison). Remember, he's on Cream's "Badge", too. "Theme for an Imaginary Western" made somewhat popular by Mountain. "Rope Ladder to the Moon" covered really well by Colosseum Spedding also has quite a few solo albums that are interesting, if nothing else. Check out "I'm Not Like Everybody Else".
  23. They had to fill the DVD up with SOMEthing!
