  5. Happy Birthday, Chris!!
  6. I don't know what the misunderstanding is here, regarding Chuck's comment. Why not buy some new music instead of something that has been around (outside of the DVD and the singles) for ages? The way the majors suck the juice out of their catalogues rubs me ( and maybe Chuck) the wrong way. I'm all for everyone enjoying any music in their own way, but Chuck's comment was benign, really. You could of said something like "I don't have this music in any form so now is my chance". Hell, you could of said "I like having multiple copies and the latest revisions of my favorite music. And by the way, I also purchase new titles too".
  7. Happy Birthday, John!!
  8. Allen, Now that I remember. Chuck Wayne told me that also.
  9. Around the time I took this photo of Chuck Wayne: the subject of Shearing came up, of course. I was a little taken aback with the rancor that Wayne had for Shearing. I also remember him saying something like "Shearing ruined Denzil Best" or had something to do with hastening his death.
  10. Thanks to all the late commers! It's very appreciated!
  11. Thanks for the great story, Jeff! I have never liked both the vibe or the music of Byron, if I may say.
  12. Thank for the birthday greetings, everyone!

Turner is a big influence on todays younger generation, especially around the East Coast/NYC. I'll see him next Friday at the Jazz Gallery.
