  1. Yes, until recently, Ronnie's had a club membership. Members were entitled to a lower ticket price.
  2. has not set their status

  3. When I plugged his name in the Jazz Discography Project website, 64 releases came up. I'm sure that's not all.
  4. Happy Birthday, Mark!!
  5. How about married ones? Especially those!
  6. I don't think I know a single bassist who will fly with his instrument, these days.
  7. You know, they had the good taste to not issue "Yesterday" when they were on Apple, so why do it now? I know, I know, I guess I'm the only living person who think that song is doggerel.
  8. Look Here
  9. Very funny! I gotta say, I'm not a big fan of Ravi Coltrane. It was kinda neat when he was a kid and playing with Elvin, but then again there was always Sonny Fortune on stage too, for some real meat.
  10. Happy Birthday, Lon!!
  11. The version of "Soul Eyes" here is really fantastic! If fact, everyone here is playing at his best: George Coleman - At Yoshi's 08/01/1987 Evidence Credits: George Coleman - Sax (Tenor), Harold Mabern - Piano Ray Drummond - Bass Alvin Queen - Drums 01 - They Say It's Wonderful 02 - Good Morning Heartache 03 - Laig Gobblin' Blues 04 - Io 05 - Up Jumped Spring 06 - Father 07 - Soul Eye I've heard that he's not playing much for whatever reason. In the early eighties, I heard him for almost a solid week, every set, at the Blue Note, they ( Coleman, Maybern, Idris Muhamad and Jamil Nasser) were so good.

  13. There is a label called "Lotus" ( a 1980 release ) that seems to come up more frequently for this date.
  14. This one, on March 14, 1969 has Roy McCurdy, so the Joker issue might be wrong since it's another live concert in Europe. If you look here:Alto Giant Roy is listed instead of Louis.
  15. Here's one of my favorites that I took a long time ago: One of my all-time favorite tenor albums is "Picture of Heath" on Xanadu
  16. I'm sure that Julio was thinking: "I wonder how many of these backup singers can fit in my jet and take back to my home at Star Island?". When they started the first song, I thought they were going into "Greasy", by Walter Davis Jr.!
  17. Those Bix and Tram recording were widely distributed,no? Besides those recording and others under his own name, he also was on many recordings with Jean Goldkette, and Paul Whiteman. That may be a reason that so many site him as a influence. His recoding were out there for many to hear. Black or White.
  18. I'd go for sure.
  19. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GUY!!
  20. Happy Birthday, Jack!!
  21. I've read it and like it very much, especially for all of the information regarding Ellington's later work and life.
  22. I remember these, that my Mother brought back from a trip to Flordia once: Let's just say they are a decidedly acquired taste! I think I have just about everything that Lenny Bruce recorded on LP. including this one: Lenny Bruce Is Out Again - Lenny Bruce [1966]
