LPs 1, 2, 3. Was the cover image supposed to be off-center like that, or is that just a case of 'stuff happens'? Kind of like the Eldridge box.

Er... What's wrong with the Eldridge box? Don't tell me it's Red Nichols on the cover :D

MG

That is the way the original photo was cropped and the off center placement seems ok to me. The Eldridge cover shot was reversed if I remember correctly.

Disc 10 of the Basie ... quite a ride! Will have to give the Roulette Live another spin sonn, too ... not sure why, but all in all, the Roulette stuff just kicks me more than the Verve (even though there's splendid Lady Q and Lockjaw there - and Gus Johnson, too).

just getting started with the Birdland mateiral from 1961 (most of disc 2 and all of discs 3 and 4)

Embarrassed to say I've had this LP set for years but barely listened to it. Only cost around £25, which seemed like a bargain but then not playing it at all defeats logic.

I picked up a copy of the CD version for about £30 and I thought I was doing well....

Woody Herman Columbia 1945-47 / discs one and two for sure, maybe more

Stuck with disc one yesterday, had to spin those tunes again and again - most fascinating! Now onto disc two.
