So far , I have Hebb's original, Benson's version off of Giblet Gravy , JB's live version, and this amazing ... Suggestions please ! JSngry Posted April 3, 2009 Report Share Posted April 3, 2009 Per AMG, in 1990, BMI named "Sunny" as the 18th most performed song of all time from their catalog. AMG also lists 979 verions of "Sunny", but not all of them are the Hebb tune. But it looks like most of them are. Also per AMG, this tidbit, of which I had no idea: Bobby Hebb's influence goes far beyond "Sunny." When he joined Roy Acuff's Smokey Mountain Boys around 1952 in Nashville, he was one of the first African American artists to perform on The Grand Ole Opry before Charley Pride.
