As for sound, if Definitive is an indication, it will be rather crappy I guess (and likely even MP3 sourced, you never quite now until you've checked that ... not that I adhere to those who think it matters if crappy editions are MP3-based or not, crap is crap ... but I still don't like buying CDs in those cases). But I'll be happy to be proven wrong. However, as I have the two JiP discs, the Americans Swinging in Paris and the Vogue w/Beryl Booker & Mary Lou Williams, I guess I've got enough (I would though go for a well-done *complete* Byas set of that - or any other! - period)!

Was able to pick up the Toscanini Complete RCA set from an earlier Amazon lightning deal on Tuesday for $65 + tax. Pretty good deal in my book!

I'm not certain how long this will be available, but there are a couple of used copies of Coltrane's Complete Village Vanguard Recordings 4 cd set used in "like new" condition from Amazon Marketplace ranging from just over $22 to just under $25. If you want it, move fast!
