Listening to this favorite–this time the CTI Supreme Blu-Spec CD version–to see what it sounds like with this new, evolving in sound DAC. It sounds bloody good!

Dave McKenna Quartet - Featuring Zoot Sims (Chiaroscuro, 1974)
with Major Holley (b) and Ray Mosca (d)

Zoot & McKenna together are like baseball and apple pie.  Sometimes, what's tried-and-true -- and maybe even a little old-fashioned -- hits the spot.

Great album from the 90s. Don't listen to it often enough.

Absolutely, and nor do I

I have that Stateside LP with the Geller/Dorham session.

It was also reissued by Vogue as ‘West Coast Scene Vol 3’ but only half the LP was included and I don’t think Vol 4 ever came out !

Great music (for dancing or listening) and I love the sound of Basie records on Roulette.
