Yep.

I put the discs from that set in regular jewel cases, so they're accessible on my CD shelves for that very reason. ;)

I would have been sure that this is something very very similar like "Aghartha". Almost same cover art.

Funny you mention the cover's similarity to Agharta. I thought the same, Gheorghe.

In 1970, Freddie recorded both Red Clay and Straight Life.  Two stone-cold classics.

Both very, very good records!

the mastering may have a bit more care than the previous releases under Dorn supervision.

Good, thanks, I thought the Dorn mastering on the 32Jazz Left Bank material was fairly atrocious.   Walton, Getz, Hubbard, Stitt come immediately to mind.  Not sure if I have any other Left Bank 32Jazz material.  That whole label was a mess in some ways, from the reimagined cover art (especially "The Moontrane", but lots of others.  Muse did some great album covers until they decided half-naked women was the way to go) to the anthology track selection (anthologies aren't a good modern jazz idea anyways, and to make a Carlos Garnett Muse anthology be only 40 minutes, and burn 1/3 of that on "Taurus Woman"?  Really?).  Yet they did things like reissue "The Free Slave" which were amazing.

From the (now) late Mark Stewart ...

I only read right now that he passed away last week. That's a blow; he was only 62.

The Pop Group was hugely important for my musical education, but I also loved -and still like- the industrial dub cut-ups of his later albums.

Well. . . the mastering is only a part of the problem with Left Bank issues--the source material is uniformly. . . just above mediocre. But the releases under Zev's direction sound better.

One of the best BN albums of the 60´s, with the best playing of all of them and incredible fantastic tunes.

I never was a fan of the organ, but Larry Young really is exiting on that. Strange to say I don´t get the same feeling from his other BN albums. Well the one with Sam Rivers is also tops, but this one is the best.
I had another "Of Love and Peace" but can listen only to "Seven Steps to Heaven". The first long tune just is not mine.

One of my favourites , I don´t have so much Wes Montgomery, but I have the Incredible Guitar, So Much Guitar, a Montgomery Trio (I think those are Riverside), and most of all I love the live dates here like this, and "Full House" with Griff and Miles Davis´ Rhythm Section......
