Not sure what to think. My first impression wasn’t as strong as I was expecting but with Guy/Hemingway as the bass/drums tandem my expectations might have been excessive. Quote

I’d be all over the Jones Jones if it was on CD. The two recordings I have are treasures. Great great improvising trio. “Moscow Improvisations” on Not Two Records is especially great. If I was into solo saxophone recordings (which I’m not) I’d be ordering Hydros 2 by Liudas Mockunas. As I mentioned on another thread, the trio recording with the saxophonist joined by Rafal Mazur & Raymond Strid - Live at Divadlo 29. Have you seen Mockunas live? Quote

And never heard of Jones Jones, but I'll take a mental note for whenever I next order from Not Two. Quote

Late Posted yesterday at 07:48 PM Report Posted yesterday at 07:48 PM Listen here. The (so far) 4 volumes of Studio Rivbea sessions put out by NoBusiness have been really good. (Note: I don't have Volume 1. Need to correct that.) Quote

colinmce Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Looking forward to the Oliver Lake volume finally hitting these shores, and can't wait to see what else they pull out of the vaults. All of the first 3 releases are phenomenal, maybe the Blythe most of all. Quote
