mikelz777 Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 None!! It's been 31 days since I bought my last jazz CD. That's the longest I've gone without buying a CD in the last 2 years! I feel like I should be in a meeting or something, "Hello, I'm Scott and I'm a jazz CD buy-a-holic.........." I hope to extend the streak and wean myself down to 1 a month or so. Quote
Van Basten II Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 I've been about 30 minutes without buying cds. Here's what i got today. Any french music fan does not need any introduction about those two characters. Never heard of that Rava recording, bought it on an impulse Bought it because it was cheap and it comes from a label i enjoy. Quote

Dave Garrett Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 ...all 20 volumes. I knew these were OOP, and never expected to get them all in one fell swoop, but I'm still kinda stunned by the prices some of them are fetching on Amazon. ejp626 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 I was at Dusty Groove and picked up Aquele Som Dos Gatos by Os Gatos and Alice in Jazzland by Stan Tracey. They carry a few other ReSteamed releases, so I will ask them if they plan on carrying Tracey's The Return of Captain Adventure. Quote
sidewinder Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Alice in Jazzland by Stan Tracey. That's a great session by Stan's 'Big Brass' recorded for Lansdowne/UK Columbia. The Reissue is from a decent vinyl - I've heard mixed reports about the sound but the music is so good, the main thing its back out there to enjoy. All of those Stan Tracey Big Brass recordings are great IMO. Even the one with Acker Bilk - 'Blue Acker'. Quote
