I just got back from a fairly long bike ride (talking pedal bike here). Rode from my house to Jim's to feed the cats while Jim, Alison, and Zora are up north. Then from there I rode all the way into East Lansing, which is maybe 8 miles. Went to Barnes & Noble to look for a particular book, and browsed around for about half an hour. When I came back out just after 9 pm, I was dismayed to see it raining like crazy. :o But I figured there was no point in waiting for it to let up, since there was going to be standing water all along the route. I was plenty soaked when I got home.

Moral: check the weather reports before you leave the house!

It has not rained here for several weeks but showers are expected for the final stage of the Tour de France on the Champs-Elysees avenue this afternoon.

High will be 72C.

Brutal.  It's 90 still.  We're moving somewhere where it's 94 and the humidity is worse, but I can't wait, because then we'll have air conditioning...

Yeah, but where you're going, they ain't got indoor plumbing....

Damn...I think I should find an excuse to go to Seattle this week...

It's hot, humid and otherwise miserable here in Northern Va. It's supposed to be 98 tomorrow. JOY!

No rain, a little sunshine or whatever light that's able to get through. The entire frigging city's been enveloped in a thick haze for 4-5 days now. Quality of air is at 'hazardous' levels.:(

Quite a climate shock for me. I spent 3 weeks in Malta, where temperatures were constantly over 30° C, and now I'm back in Luxembourg with the lowest summer temperatures I remember (10° in the morning, 16-20° during the day).

That's colder than winter in Malta!

That's how it's been most of the time over here too Claude; truly dreadful 'summer' weather. :tdown

We may have, what our British press like to call, an Indian summer, where the temperatures hit 25 degC for three weeks in September .

Strange - I thought it had been quite a good Summer in the UK?

Maybe the South has had it better than the North (it usually does). I was up in York last week and, predictably, it rained. Always does when I visit. :D

October here has been warmer than August so far. Sunny today, 18° :rlol

Predictably, August in the far north was bloody awful. Most of September and up to now have been glorious; open top motoring, short sleeves on the bike and balmy evenings outside the pub so far. Well apart from today which is warm and wet.

It's pretty dreary around here today in Jersey. We didn't get rain for months now we're getting more than enough. I assume this takes care of the drought emergency in some towns.
