White Lightning Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 nice pic WL ... is that the sea in the background? i think we need another shot. ← No sea in Jerusalem... What you see in the background is a Palestine (and a Jewish Neighborhood within that territory) Here's another pic that I took today, this time to the Israeli part of Jerusalem: Quote
Guy Berger Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 31c (89F) today in Jerusalem, hotter than usual this time of year, which is 29C (84F), but the humidity is low as always (40-45%) so it's quite tolerable. Especially becasue of the constant light breeze and since it becomes much cooler at night. Haifa and Tel Aviv, OTOH, are pure hell during July and August. Guy Quote

B. Goren. Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 I am in Munich at the moment. Hot like in Tel-Aviv but rainy from time to time. But after drinking the Bavarian beer, who cares about the weather???? Quote
BERIGAN Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 Somehow, we have avoided the real heat that the rest of the country has experienced, but damn is it huuummmmiiiiddd! (Where is the sweating smiley anyway?) Now, we are going to be in the mid 90's the next week, and with it raining EVERY single afternoon(Today we must have gotten 2 inches) we will have to be about the most miserable place to live in the U.S. Quote
alankin Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 115F last weekend. (I was in Phoenix.) 83F right now (in Philadelphia). Quote
7/4 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 A breezy 85F here in Jersey, some clouds, low humidity. Film at 11. Quote
BFrank Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 SF Currently: 73° ... but no fog today - bummer. Quote
mgraham333 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 102 degrees, feels like 110. It's an inside day! Quote
catesta Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 High was maybe 85° F, with a nice cool breeze and almost no humidity. Beautiful! Quote

Jazzmoose Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 Brutal. It's 90 still. We're moving somewhere where it's 94 and the humidity is worse, but I can't wait, because then we'll have air conditioning... Quote
Peter Johnson Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 Perfect--75 and not a cloud in the sky. Quote
Joe G Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 I just got back from a fairly long bike ride (talking pedal bike here). Rode from my house to Jim's to feed the cats while Jim, Alison, and Zora are up north. Then from there I rode all the way into East Lansing, which is maybe 8 miles. Went to Barnes & Noble to look for a particular book, and browsed around for about half an hour. When I came back out just after 9 pm, I was dismayed to see it raining like crazy. But I figured there was no point in waiting for it to let up, since there was going to be standing water all along the route. I was plenty soaked when I got home. Moral: check the weather reports before you leave the house! Quote
BFrank Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 Mid-upper 70's today and very little wind. Where's the FOG?????????? Quote
brownie Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 It has not rained here for several weeks but showers are expected for the final stage of the Tour de France on the Champs-Elysees avenue this afternoon. High will be 72C. Quote

Soulstation1 Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 we had 38/39 days of 100 degrees or more snapped ss1 Quote
Shawn Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Damn...I think I should find an excuse to go to Seattle this week... It's hot, humid and otherwise miserable here in Northern Va. It's supposed to be 98 tomorrow. JOY! Quote
BFrank Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I'm watching the Cubs/Giants on TV and they say it's 89 with 95% humidity. I can't imagine what that's like (the humidity, that is). Quote
chris olivarez Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 It just finished raining here in Pagosa Springs. About a half inch of rain and it dropped the temperature to 60 degrees. I'm hearing more thundrestorm activity in the area. Could be more rain on the way. Quote
kinuta Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Typhoon. The humidity is unreal. The drainage from the airconditioner filled a king size bucket in about eight hours. Quote
LAL Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 No rain, a little sunshine or whatever light that's able to get through. The entire frigging city's been enveloped in a thick haze for 4-5 days now. Quality of air is at 'hazardous' levels. Quote
Claude Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 (edited) Quite a climate shock for me. I spent 3 weeks in Malta, where temperatures were constantly over 30° C, and now I'm back in Luxembourg with the lowest summer temperatures I remember (10° in the morning, 16-20° during the day). That's colder than winter in Malta! Edited August 11, 2005 by Claude Quote

We may have, what our British press like to call, an Indian summer, where the temperatures hit 25 degC for three weeks in September . Quote
