After all, Gordon Brown wants to build lots of them to keep the power going for our stereos. Well, they are safe - so long as you don't put them in windy places Actually, when we looked at it, it hadn't fallen over - the top and vanes had come off. Wild last night. Might have a walk down the end of our street to see if any more have suffered. But I have to put some things straight in the garden first. MG Quote
AndrewHill Posted June 27, 2008 Report Posted June 27, 2008 Trying to avoid running the air conditioning but when my thermometer read 82 degrees yesterday in the house, I couldn't take it anymore. Even with the air conditioning set at 72, its still feels kinda muggy and the temp outside already reads 75 and its only 7:35 in the morning! Can't wait for fall. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 28, 2008 Report Posted June 28, 2008 Like bleedin' November yesterday. Rained all day and was bloody cold! No warmer today, but the rain left off a couple of hours ago - for a while. MG Quote

AndrewHill Posted June 28, 2008 Report Posted June 28, 2008 (edited) Well as a result of our hot, muggy morning we now have these huge thunderstorms, which have consequently blocked my satellite signal, which means I can no longer watch Wimbledon Well, time to play some tunes Edited June 28, 2008 by Holy Ghost Quote

The Magnificent Goldberg Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 More rain. I thought it wasn't so cold yesterday evening as the day before then, when I was going to bed, I noticed that my wife had turned the central heating on! Still, the water bill will be lower this year, to compensate for the higher heating bill. MG Quote

We're getting the glowering clouds and lots of wind but very little rain. My larger pond is well down. We had a good drenching around Whit week, a pathetic bit of drizzle last week and a reasonable splashing last Thursday (but not enough to fill the pond back up), but that's it! I'm thinking of organising a school trip to Worksop - that always guarantees rain! Quote
