  1. What about Ron Carter? Surely a contender for best-dressed!
  2. R.I.P. Arthur. A true original and an engaging voice in jazz. You will be missed LWayne
  3. I would also rate "Cities" by Chris Potter much higher than "Sirens", but I enjoy both. I have all the CDs that you mention. "Apex" is probably the best due to my admiration for Bunky Green. "Science Friction" has not really made much of an impression on me. LWayne
  4. What about the Red Mitchell/ Jim Hall CD release on ArtistShare? LWayne
  5. Very sad news, whether expected or not. The man leaves behind a considerable legacy. God Bless Bobby!
  6. Agree with John. While this represents some great music, I would not have the curiosity to listen to it more than once. Likely, I'm out. LWayne
  7. Selling the John Coltrane "The Impulse Albums: Volume 1" for $20. Shipping $5 for CONUS. Will quote at cost for overseas. Will trade-in at end of week. PM me if interested. Thanks, LWayne
  8. Happy Birthday to the King! LWayne
  9. Mal Waldron "Up Popped The Devil" on Enja CD and Billy Harper "Black Saint" on Black Saint (not CDR, not bootleg) are my "Holy Grail" CDs. LWayne

  12. Favorite acquisition: William Parker-Wood Flute Songs. Out of print box. Been looking for some time. Got one in mint condition as a gift. LWayne
  13. Up-Price Reduction -------------------------------------- New Barry Altschul Trio 3Dom Factor CD on Tum Records for sale $8 plus $3.50 shipping in USA. Brand new. Getting great reviews on Organissimo. Not my cup of tea. Please send PM. Thanks, LWayne
  14. Musa (Ancestral Streams) is my favorite. But hard to find. Stanley Cowell is very under-rated LWayne
  15. Obviously I am not fond of the Tim Berne either... I have the Ahmad Jamal/ Yusef Lateef "Live at the Olympia" 2 CD/DVD on Jazz Village that I would put into a trade package, Interested? LWayne
  16. Looking to trade new copy of Tim Berne "You've Been Watching Me" for a new colpy of Jack DeJohnette "Made in Chicago". ECM for ECM. Possible? LWayne
  17. Also received mone today. In the listening queue for tomorrow. Thanks. LWayne
  18. Still processing this news. What a shocker. One of the truly influential-and controversial-musicians in jazz and modern music. RIP to a man who challenged and changed the rules. You will be missed. LWayne
  19. Unfortunately, we got caught up in the May 1st holiday as well. Visited Paris Jazz Corner the day before. We decided to saty for May 1st because it is our anniversary. Nothing to do in the city. Went to Montmarte and Sacre Couer, but it was terribly crowded. Enjoyed the evening going to dinner with acquaintances of a friend of ours. However, stay clear of Le Meriden Jazz Club. Paid a 100 EUR cover charge for music that they advertized as "jazz". Truly awful. LWayne
  20. Paris Jazz Corner was excellent! I found a vinyl copy of "Mingus Lives" by Mal Waldron on Enja. it was even signed by Mal himself. An unexpected bonus. LWayne
  21. Any other comments on this CD? I am thinking of ordering especially as I tried, in vain, to track down a physical copy of this CD at FNAC and Paris Jazz Corner. Looks like I will need to order directly from Dark Tree, or, try to order through my local brick & mortar. LWayne
