Legacy has created a webpage that lets you suggest and vote for reissues:

http://legacyrecordings.uservoice.com/pages/general?limit=50

Legacy owns material originally released by the following labels:

Regarding Jazz, they own everything by Columbia and RCA.

I've already added some jazz related ones. You can suggest or vote for 10 different items. Here are some I have added:

Miles Davis - Complete Fillmore 1970 concerts:

I see they own Jive. So a Jive Afrika/Jive Jazz box of South African jazz recordings would be a possibility. With stuff by Hugh Masekela, Barney Rachabane, McCoy Mrubata, Ezra Ngcukana - which I've got - plus anything I haven't heard of. I don't think this stuff was issued in South Africa at the time, so there's a lot of sales potential there, as well as elsewhere.

Miles has a chance of winning!

I think I'll vote for an expanded "Between Nothingness and Eternity" and a lot of Gary Burton on RCA.

Great idea, Lon! Burton has been mentioned in the past regarding what we would like to see Mosaic issue. I'll go vote for him too.

I voted for the Ellingtons and Herbie Hancock (VSOP). Surprised to see so much support for Johnny Mathis/Perry Como. Why not just release it all!

There's one already up about remastering the rest of the Mahavishnu Orchestra catalogue:

I read somewhere a year ago that Legacy was going to reissue Between Nothingness and Eternity along with an extra CD of a previously unreleased show. Sadly it looks like that has gone nowhere.

Thanks for the VSOP vote! I suggested that one too.

Yes, the Dixon needs to be accessible (legally) to more people. It's a classic.

I also suggested that Presenting Burton Greene should be reissued and that the tapes, if they exist, of Sunny Murray's Columbia session should see the light of day...

The Quad mixes they have released on SACD are really good. I have Headhunters and Mysterious Traveler by Weather Report, which both sound fantastic in quad.

And, if they could reissue:

Monk's "Big Band and Quartet"

Mulligan's "What Else is there to Say?"

Hayes' "New York Sessions"

in nice, newely remastered editions to update the old "Columbia Masterpiece" editions

Burt Williams

Annette Hanshaw

oldies but goodies - they need to go through their vaults and put out whatever thay have - though this will never happen while I'm alive (of course I'm not feeling too well today so this could be sooner than we think)
