  3. Carlos Santana “Oneness” Columbia cd
  4. He was great. Even did a couple of X songs.
  5. I'd like to clear out my last 5 copies of Singularity Codex; message me here for a copy. $20 shipped anywhere in the US. They make a great Passover gift!

  7. I'm glad it's not just me!
  8. I bet that's good. The only Freeman LP I have is Something Tender (bought on a Larry Kart recommendation).
  9. That I'd like to see. I hope you enjoyed it
  10. Nice! Alto saxophonists James Moody (1925) and Christer Boustedt (1939) as well... both gone.
  11. Those would sell now, but at the time, post-Coltrane modal jazz wasn't really moving units like it currently does. I also remember a time when those records were cheap and nobody cared...
  12. Saw Rufus with Byard Lancaster once. It was a very interesting gig. I certainly would not have otherwise guessed it was him on this track, and he's a bit stiff so Barron & Pope are both out as possibilities. That said, and having not really spent time with his Atlantics, the choice is rather illuminating. The piece with Woods is fun; it doesn't appear to be on a record I own so will be curious to find out more. The overdubbed solo soprano composition is really nice; it's not Surman, but does seem to be dipping into a similar well.
  13. (yet another Jazz Detective production that I acquired recently... )
  14. That should be him, if you search this board for "math rock", you find some instances of Larry discussing his son, apparently his former band as a guitar player was Crush Kill Destroy
  15. According to Facebook, his son's name is Jacob. Unfortunately, his son does not have a Facebook page himself. If his son Jacob is a musician, this is his bandcamp page: https://bandcamp.com/jacobkart
  16. “Miucha & Antonio Carlos Jobim” RCA Japan cd I wanted to hear some flute, and Jobim’s flute sounds lovely here.
  17. It’s warm but the cold returns tomorrow and hangs out. Spring! Statring off a quiet morning with the Rudy Vang Gelder Remasters version of Kenny Burrell with Coleman Hawkins “Bluesy Burrell” Moodsville/OJC cd.
  18. My first exposure to Bird was the Savoy/Arista LP box set, picked up whilst on a visit to Sydney in the mid 80s. Not long after I found the Dial/Spotlite LP box set here in Brisbane second hand. Still have them both but they have been superseded (for listening) by the Savoy/Dial Atlantic set & Dial Mosaic. Sublime music!!
  19. FWIW, I just wrote to Spotify in the Support chat and mentioned some of these examples (as well as others that I found). I mentioned that these "artists", while not listed under the profiles of the real artists, have been assigned misleading "names". A couple of hours later I got this email from Spotify: "Thanks for informing us about this. We’ve checked it out and see what you mean, so we’ve passed it on to the Content team for review. Hopefully they’ll have this sorted for you soon. Please be aware this could take several weeks to be reflected in the app".
