  1. Past hour
  2. Spun this last night and had to stop what I was doing and just listen. I used to think I wasn't a fan of their duo work, but thankfully I was mistaken. This is a really good session. I still haven't heard Volume 2 of this set.
  3. Today
  4. Yep, I was happy to stumble across Bangalore -- and the other two Mariano albums, as well. I've heard them all via streaming services, but I'm looking forward to hearing the music on my stereo in higher fidelity.
  5. Nice find! That Bangalore album has been on my discogs wish list, but I haven't been keeping up. No doubt you got DG's only copy. 😁
  6. Saw this thread referenced elsewhere on the board and thought I'd resurrect it. I have two sets that I got directly from Mosaic years ago that came with booklets, but in plain boxes. So, I am looking for the actual outer boxes that came with the sets. 1. Shorty Rogers 2. Herbie Nichols I check eBay and Discogs every once in a while. I recently snagged a George Lewis outer box on Discogs, which knocked that one off my list. Still looking for the other two.
  7. Yesterday, I ordered three Charlie Mariano CDs from Dusty Groove: Outstanding.
  8. I'm still surprised that this 2-CD set has never been reissued. It's virtually gone on the market. There's been one for sale on discogs for crazy money for several years and the history shows only one sold. You would think Joey's estate would put this out. I think this year I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy the mp3 downloads from Amazon.
  9. What a fascinating line-up. I don't think I've ever seen this album before. What do you think of it, @kh1958?
  10. The hourly schedule has been posted since last week.
  11. Jakob Bro/Lee Konitz/Bill Frisell/Jason Moran/Thomas Morgan/Andrew Cyrile, Taking Turns (ECM)
  12. Enjoying another album by Roxy Coss, “The Future is Female” on Posi-tone cd 600×600 83.3 KB Bass – Rick Rosato Bass Clarinet – Lucas Pino Drums – Jimmy Macbride Guitar – Alex Wintz Piano – Miki Yamanaka Saxophone, Bass Clarinet – Roxy Coss
  13. I fondly remember those Firestone records, and while some of the stuff was pretty lame, the memories I have of those Christmas songs being played at Christmas time as a kid are not. A few albums I enjoyed then and have CDs of now are the Nat King Cole - The Christmas Song, Christmas with Chet Atkins, Glen Campbell - That Christmas Feeling, and Harry Belafonte - To Wish You A Merry Christmas.
  14. full list here, quite a few first time to cd, that Eddie Louiss one is really great! https://www.catfish-records.jp/product-group/1105
  15. Will never forget seeing his cameo appearance with Bruce at SXSW 2012
  16. One of the budget cinemas in Toronto was showing Jeanne Dielman. (A strange choice.) I figured the only way I would stick it out was in the theatre, as opposed to watching at home. I'm sure that is the case after sitting through it this evening. I'll just say I am not a fan and leave it at that.
  17. just spied my old post - I managed to score a complete CD box set in 2022, so no need for a booklet
  18. Joshua Redman “Timeless Tales (for Changing Times)” Warner Bros. cd Not the best Redman album of the 'nineties but with that band. . . still an interesting listen. Joshua with Brad Mehldau, Larry Grenadier and Brian Blade.
