  1. Past hour
  2. Maybe 3-4 inches in Kansas City, but very cold (3-4 degrees all day) and windy. Dry snow is a plus 😀
  3. Arraiga String Quartet No.3 - Zemlinsky Quartet Schumann Symphony No.1 - Sawallisch/Dresden
  4. Hard to see why they released this now. These kinds of lists were once essential. I spent hours over that Thurston Moore list back in the day, awkward jive slang aside. But that was a long time ago, and with the likes of RYM and Discogs that information is now available to anyone who is interested.
  5. Yesterday
  6. Hmm. Maybe not there but between them Mats and Thurston have subsequently played with a fair number of the musicians featured. I'm interested to hear what they have to say. Bailey, Brotz and Bennink are marginal euro collector crap? We'll have to agree to differ there I'm afraid.
  7. yellowjackets/altered state/hunters point
  8. The EMI box has no liner notes. The Henry Cow box has over 100 pages! ***** not jazz Disc One This box is made up of the group's first four albums.
  9. It's been 25 all day; but not windy, so not so bad. No snow yet. Maybe ice on the roads tomorrow morning.
  10. Indeed, regarding visibility in Europe, there could be a big difference... But just because Tyler was in Europe... many Europeans missed him, and just because Logan was in Tompkins Square Park, many New Yorkers... I am currently reading the autobiography of Sonny Simmons, it's bleak in almost every aspect, certainly including pay from ESP even when including what could be extorted from Stollman's mother...
  11. Juaneco Y Su Combo – El Gran Cacique Blind Connie Williams – Philadelphia Street Singer (Traditional Blues, Spirituals And Folksongs)
  12. So far, not as much as feared, although what there has been has been mostly ice, so yuck on that. As long as the power stays on, it should be a nice hunker.
  13. Yes, Tyler recorded for ESP, twice as a leader and twice as a sideman. He eventually settled in France, after touring Europe a bunch. Logan recorded twice as a leader for ESP as well as one sideman date (not to mention a sideman turn for Impulse) though as far as I know he did not tour Europe. A third ESP remains unissued.
  14. So many good British reissues these days I can't keep up. Something totally random:
  15. We are waiting for it here in the Cleveland area. Today has been calm and peaceful, though quite cold. Still going around and doing things, the last being dinner at a German restaurant.
  16. Graham Collier “New Conditions” Disconforme cd
  17. Let us know what's happening in your area with the storm and how you are making out. Doesn't hit here in Philly until the Sunday early morning hours.
