Clark Terry is indeed on track 12. His sound is so personal that I can usually identify it within a bar or two. You were also correct identifying track 14 as "Deep River" by Archie Shepp & Horace Parrlan.

This was posted on Facebook with the following caption: Lou Donaldson with Herman Foster, John Webber and Larry Johnson (?) at George Jazzcafé in Arnhem, The Netherlands, October 23, 1988. Photo by Joop van Osch That's a very young John Webber on bass. In 1988, he would've been 23. I actually didn't know he was playing professionally that long ago.

O Of course the Shepp-Parlan is 14, not 13.

Staring off with “Black Art Jazz Collective: Presented By The Side Door Jazz Club.” Quite a band!

8-16: Most of these I have no idea, but: 12. Very nice tune, I think the trumpeter is Clark Terry, it reminded me his great solo in "A tune for the tutor", a personal favorite. 13. I got this: "Deep river" by Archie Sheep and Horace Parlan.

Jason Moran / Marcus Gilmore / BlankFor.ms - Shards (Red Hook Records, 2026). Very interesting album. I've listened to it a couple of times today.

So, What Are You Listening To NOW?
Stompin at the Savoy replied to JSngry's topic in Miscellaneous Music
The lady has a great set of pipes. The arranger knows something about arranging. But somehow every time it starts to get going with a little jazz feel, it pulls up short and delivers cringey, artsy-fartsy schmaltz... -

I already have it and I love the album. Why didn't I think of that before? It's "In light of blackness" from Black Unity Trio "Al-fatihah". Great choice!

I agree. Today the mail came. And with it a second package from The Lost Recordings with the Coltrane and the Getz Zardi's UHQCD sets. I think my second order was not canceled as it was said to be. Sigh. Worse problems are possible!

“Stan Getz at Zardi’s” The Lost Recordings 2 UHQCD set, UHQCD 2 Great sound, great playing. It just amazes me how inventive Stan can be, how masterful his bebop is and also how swinging his flow is, and how beautiful the sound he produces.

Coincidentally, I am listening to Ralph Pena as well, also with Herb Geller... Finally bought this today after seeing it many times, it's wonderful

Sometimes I close my eyes, stand in front of my shelves and just pull a cd out at random. Got a good one this time.
