Wrote maybe the best book about pro hockey, The Game. In the prime of his career, retired and held out for the entire '73-'74 season in a contract dispute. Instead he worked as a law clerk and finished his law studies.

Black Box: The Complete Black Sabbath 1970-1978 (8 CD/DVD)
pglbook replied to pglbook's topic in Offering and Looking For...
Price reduced. Offered for sale is an amazing, and not very common, Black Sabbath box set: Black Sabbath - Black Box: The Complete Black Sabbath 1970-1978 (8 CD/DVD), Rhino, 2004. Everything (outer box, CDs, CD sleeves, DVD, hardcover book) is in Excellent condition. The outer box shows a little shelf wear as is typical of this box set due to the black felt covering of the outer box but it is in better condition than I usually see it in. Also, one of the inner CD cardboard boxes (there are 2 inner CD cardboard boxes that each hold 4 CD digipacks) has a little rubbing to one side edge from it being pulled in and out of the larger outer box. This is probably the best Sabbath CD box set, in terms of mastering (sound quality is amazing) and packaging. Check reviews on discogs (see link below). There are not many copies for sale on discogs and the lowest-priced copy currently for sale there from a U.S. seller is $147 ($130 - shipping+ tax) so I have priced this well below discogs prices. See discogs link below. https://www.discogs.com/release/689...-The-Complete-Original-Black-Sabbath-19701978 $110 (+ $10 media mail shipping, which includes postal insurance) U.S. shipping only Payment by pay pal friends/family. - Today

I just want to ask you musicians about that great tune. Of course I know the form of the song, but is it true that for the solos most musicians omit the last 4 bars ? I have listened to some records, one of it by Clifford Jordan and the Magic Triangle, and one by Bud Powell. Sure I also know the Miles Davis version, but that one is in Eb and I have to play it for someone who want´s it in F. So please, tell me if I´m right and on solos you just play the form, but not the last 4 bars, or am I wrong ?

It was written for John Patton's wife Ellen Brooks who was also from NC but apparently not related to Tina as I wrote here

He was a great hockey player and a lawyer, member of parliament, an author, and no doubt much more. 6 Stanley Cups, the last 4 in a row. -

I heard the Harold Vick tune Our Miss Brooks at a gig on Friday. Could it have been written for Tina? Vick declines to comment on the title in the liner notes. Of course it was also a radio then TV show with Eve Arden. I always liked her. I would like to see the show.

I would appreciate Elemental using period images of Pharoah, rather than shots from the 1960s... -

Today, a (just turned 15) piano prodigy, Juilliard student Taige Wang. Played Bach's French Overture BWV 831, a couple of pieces by Chopin, and Liszt's extravagant Réminiscences de Norma de Bellini – Grande fantaisie, S394. It was good. -
