I agree but what can we do these days with (customs duties) matters being THAT nebulous? (Uneasiness in the opposite direction over here is not much better, BTW)

👍 - the original BYG 529.321 ACTUEL VOLUME 21 is on my shelf ...

Which is, to me, bad business strategy, as USA customers are going to (understandably) assume the worst Better to address the issue head-on. I might consider CDJapan at this point if I knew exactly what I was facing tariff-wise, but the unknown nature of that cost steers me to Dusty even with their substantially more expensive prices.

A cool morning. Memphis the American Bully heard an owl outside for the first time. Was fun to see his reactions! Listening to both discs of this new release from Japan, Miles Davis “Paris Jazz Festval - Salle Pleyel - 10/1/1964” 2 disc hybrid SACD set from Sony. I think this was a smart move because it is likely the material from the latest Bootleg Series release that collectors are least likely to have. And there are those who will buy it for the SACD sound, such as I!

Yes, that's what it's all about. And they had blues roots, too. They were Alexis Korner's rhythm section before Pentangle, he thought they were the best for Renbourn, Jansch, and McShee. All other folk bands in Britain had rockish rhythm sections that all sounded similar.

Maybe they are trying to circumvent the obvious (as long as they can) in order not to frighten even more customers away?

Thanks Hutchfan. It’s small but I feel spoiled having my own space in our house.

Marion Brown's health began to decline, and this record is reflectively of that, which might be why I couldn't decide if he sounded old in a good way or not. His days of peak facility had already begun to be behind him.

I bought this (last year?) with high expectations but found it disappointing on first hearing. After a few more listens I now think it's pretty good. But there are better Ranelin recordings around, so this one is mainly for serious fans of Phil.
