  2. My guess is the cds will be the same Redbook mastering as the Redbook layer of the Tower Records SACD set. That would be sourced from the Mosaic LP masters. If the tapes were found between now and the SACD release they would be announcing that as a perceived selling incentive. That is likely a bit of an improvement over the original Redbook set (I haven't compared them myself). I'd be tempted by the vinyl set. . . we'll see if I give in. My original 2 LP US release sounds really good; I've always wondered what the Mosaic set might sound like.
  3. It's unclear whether the CD set mastering is any different from the earlier Legacy CD set, which I have. I might be interested in a hi res download but they don't seem to mention any downloads. Probably end up sticking with original cds... It's a great box and I've often wondered why it remained oop for so long.
  4. Today
  5. October 4 Eddie Gomez - 1944
  6. Many were recorded at Richard Alderson’s RLA Studios,
  7. It's at the Lace Mill in Kingston (where Michael Bisio has his monthly events) at 4 PM. Asking for a mere $10 donation. Weirdly not displayed on Lace Mill Facebook page, but I saw it today on the "Woodstock NY Local Music Gigs" FB page. Also on Kingston Artists Collective FB. [Added] They're on a mini-tour, just played Troy and Newburgh and will be in Brooklyn (Soup and Sound, 292 Lefferts Ave.) tomorrow. So you could save a drive and go then. Yeah, Jill Burton is a vocalist. I found a Youtube video of the trio plus a cellist from the Lace Mill last winter that didn't knock me out. But I'll roll the dice on it because I'm going to another show in Kingston later tonight.
  8. Chris Cochrane is a great guitarist. Andrew Drury is a fine drummer. Where & when? Maybe I can drive up to Kingston area if it’s there. I looked! Untouchable Bar but no time listed. Jill Burton is some sort of singer, I see.
  9. Recalled just in time the Indian concert is tomorrow...today instead will go for improv by Chris Cochrane, Andrew Drury and Jill Burton. This is a real shot in the dark, don't know what to expect.
  10. last night in Schenectady, Sarah Hanahan Quartet. Sarah on alto sax, Caelan Cardello on piano, Matt Dwonszyk on bass, and Sam Bolduc on drums.
  11. Judson Hall, I believe I seem to remember but I may be wrong that there is a photo of Brownie at an esp-disk session at Judson Hall
  12. Thanks. The new fad is for press releases to only mention the LPs.
  13. Ive noticed that studios are seldomly if not never mentioned. It always says: recorded in NYC. Did ESP Disk use the same studios for recording or is there anything known where those sessions took place?
  14. Cherubini String Quartets No.1 and No.6 - Hausmusick
  15. It didn't bother me that much. I just think it was stupid. Set and disc are not synonymous. And FWIW, why stop there if that's what they were doing? Why not call the first nights' discs 1A, 1B, 1C & 1D & the second nights' discs 2A, 2B, 2C & 2D? It would have made just as much sense.
  16. It is so quiet and still here this morning, no distraction from great sound. Started with Grateful Dead “From the Mars Hotel Angel Share” second half 640×640 810 KB Followed by Jason Palmer “Rhyme and Reason” disc 2 Mark Turner–a great partner for Jason. 300×273 23.5 KB
  17. October 4 Steve Swallow - 1940 Saw him in Göttingen with Carla Bley as duo November 13, 1993 and with John Scofield and Bill Stewart as trio November 3, 2006.
  18. It's been out of print a long time.
