You're lucky you didn't join. I was in my 40s when one of my students told me that KISS stood for Knights In the Service of Satan. If you had joined their Army, word on the street is, when Army members die, they face an eternity of listening to KISS records as a reward.for their service..LOL!

I was just thinking the same thing. Clearly, some of you know something others of us don't. So what's the deal?

I think I am just a hair younger than the original Kiss cohort but really right there, just a few years after they hit big. HATED HATED HATED them. Might have been the target demo but had no use or interest in guys dressed up like that or why anyone would be attracted to that. "Beth", however, was a pretty song.

Maybe Kentucky Fried Chicken will let you use it. (I write this as a vegetarian.)

Storyville [Japan: Trio Records PA 6004 (M)] - Bob Brookmeyer / Zoot Sims Quintet " WHOEEEE" - rec. 1956

Now playing: Paul Gonsalves - Cleopatra Feelin' Jazzy (Impulse!). This one has never been a favorite of mine. Odd band... I can't think of another LP where these players have worked together: Gonsalves, tenor; Hank Jones, Piano; Dick Hyman, Organ; Kenny Burrell, Guitar; George Duvivier, Bass; Roy Haynes, Drums; Manny Albam, Bell Tree on 3 tracks. Manny Albam bell tree? I have this as bonus tracks to the 1999 Gonsalves CD "Tell It The Way It Is!"

That first concert was Kiss at the Springfield Civic Center. Looking at the concert databases on line, I would guess it was Jan. 27, 1978. It was a fun concert but it also spoiled Gene Simmons' act for me. I sat next to the stage - like right beside it - and they didn't block my view of Simmons' staging area. I saw him stuff the fake blood packets into his cheeks before his did his "spit blood all over" act and I saw him get a mouthful of alcohol in his mouth before his spit flames. Seeing his prep work made it so hokey. It was more like a play than a concert.

I decided to get me the Roy Brooks. I just love that record. Only had the 32 jazz cd version with the ugly art work. Just picked it up from my local record store. For now I could say the cover is done very, very nicely. Curious to hear how it sounds. Iām not really fond of how most Muse records sound, especially the bass sounds pretty strange on some of them. Will spin it tomorrow and check back in for those interested or on the fence to pick one up as well

In that case, I'm going to fly you standby along with me for a bit to see what shakes out. You WILL have a 2026 BFT, that much I will guarantee. And thanks for bailing me out this year.
