  2. I am in a process of indpecting an evaluating stuff stored in dozens of boxes on my shelves, and whhile dusting the CDs with British music it turned out the missing Pentangle CD was correctly filed with the band's other discs. Blind man ....
  3. Yep! Tune and arrangement by Charlie Mariano. Quincy is credited with conducting. Not Bill Barron. More obscure (I think). I'll add that this tenor player is not primarily know for their tenor playing.
  4. Maybe. I haven't been inspired to. Now Bill Evans “Haunted Heart” Craft Recordings 3 cd set, disc 1
  5. Today
  6. I've listened to her. . . she hasn't really captured my fancy yet.
  7. Nice singer, for sure. I am also pretty sure you know of and have listened to Roberta Gambarini, who to these ears is one of the most interesting jazz vocalists nowadays.
  8. Tiziana Ghiglioni “A Lucio Battisti” Philology cd I picked this up for 99 cents and it’s quite interesting. I had never heard this Italian singer before, but she sounds very nice here with great accompaniment. 355×363 11.1 KB 338×300 20.6 KB
  9. Starting off with an album I really like: Rudy Royston “303”. . . this work from the drummer being thoroughly modern and a nice recording. From 2014. 800×800 56 KB 634×634 94.5 KB Bass – Mimi Jones or Yasushi Nakamura Drums, Percussion – Rudy Royston Guitar – Nir Felder Piano – Sam Harris Saxophones– Jon Irabagon Trumpet – Nadja Noordhuis
  10. No, Charlie Mariano is the composer and arranger on the selected track. From the liner notes: "Quincy Jones, who produced this album, selected the personnel, picked the instrumentation and arrangers."
  11. They mentioned it in last week's newsletter: "We are deeply disappointed to announce that both Adrian Sherwood and Chucho Valdés have had to cancel their planned performances at Big Ears, due to circumstances beyond their control."
  12. Allison's brother. An excellent album with a band of Bill Frisell, Jerry Douglas, Steve Jordan.
  13. Charlie Byrd, Byrd by the Sea (Fantasy)
  14. #9 has to be Bill Barron, then. but the record is eluding me. It's not fromMotivation.
  15. Tom Brown has died at 89. RIP. I had his bubble gum card in 1964, and had the pleasure of chatting with him at his 1984 Hall of Fame induction. https://3downnation.com/2026/03/16/b-c-lions-mourn-hall-of-fame-inductee-three-time-all-cfl-selection-tom-brown/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/lions-say-canadian-football-hall-of-famer-tom-brown-has-died-at-age-89/ ***** Eastern analysis https://www.cfl.ca/2026/03/16/mmqb-one-key-off-season-decision-for-every-east-division-team/ ***** Combine analysis https://www.cfl.ca/2026/03/16/9-interesting-facts-about-cfl-combine-participants/ ***** Sask analysis https://pifflespodcast.com/blog/riderville-roundup-march-15-2026/
  16. I'm hearing tuba on 12, and I'm digging it the more I listen. Definitely notice the needle drop. Kudos. Don't think it's Ray Draper. Can't connect Howard Johnson either...Sax starting to remind me of Shepp but not having any luck there at the moment.
  17. Thanks. Definitely got my interest. Have been jumping around that 2023 American Pianists Awards set. I wish there were more youtube, etc. clips available.
  18. At home just water with squeezed lemon in it. When I get out for dinner or in a club, soda with squeezed lemon. And turkish coffee. I never ever drink alcool, but not because I might have had abuse, it´s just I can´t stand it. And having bipolar disorder it might be harmful, so it´s cool I don´t even like it.
