  1. What Jim said.
  2. Have not tried playing it yet, but I just discovered this disc in my collection: Victor 18722 - ODJB playing "Broadway Rose" and "Sweet Mama" recorded December 30, 1920. This seems to be a first pressing and looks like it will be noisy.

  4. i just noticed Freddie Keppard is between Stan Kenton and Kent Kessler. Seems reasonable to me. Freddie wins.

    Kenton!

    Fascinating.
  6. why not spend a couple bucks and reward the folks financing the recording?
  7. Not sure I would choose any individual performance in this box as a first choice, but as a "bunch" I think it is good.
  8. It's an imperfect edit carried over from my 50 year old stereo lp. I'd be curious to know if it is the same on an original mono pressing.
  9. No duplication.
  10. Binge watching the first season of "The Detectorists".
  11. I just had chills.
  12. Moved on to the second box. Thanks again to Ghost for the prod. Not great, but interesting music for me at this stage.
  13. Prodded by Ghost's posting.
  14. Here is a dandy pic of Roscoe and MTAO taken after the recording was done. Thanks to daughter Carla for the image.

Mosaic had intended a 7 cd set and that concept has been expanded to 9 discs by Jazz Oracle. Do not ignore the Jazz Oracle disc of the Louisiana Rhythm Kings.
  16. Wait to see the images in the 16 page booklet.
  17. Thanks for posting the pic Alan. All early orders have been shipped
  18. Wonderful session - I have most, if not all, on BN 78s.
  19. "Ride the Wind" is now in house, and on the website.
  20. Might attend.
