  1. Overnight someone, maybe Ubu will shove us over the top and we can relax.
  2. The Chordettes. The Kingston Trio The Rays.
  3. It doesn't cost more to do 96 though some engineers think 88.2 translates better to cds.
  4. All of this is really disappointing to someone spending dozens of hours in the studio to make the 24/96 master sound as good as possible. Seems I'm playing the fool.
  5. Phil is right and wrong at the same time. The Marsalis family thing is a joke. So might be the Phil thing if my standards were applied. BUT I don't want to deny any award to any musician. Elect Fred Below to the Jazz Hall of Fame!
  6. Teddy made 2 really fine trio sessions for Storyville in 1968 and 1980. I prefer the 1980 date. These were spread over 3 lps. Don't know the cd configurations but they should have 2 really good discs from these sessions.
  7. For a minute I thought that was a Braxton piece I didn't know.
  8. Not going to give in to the manipulation of the marketeers.

  15. yup One problem with FF - it does not allow opening of PDFs, at least in their Mac version. I have to open Safari to read my electric bill.
  16. That's ok. FWIW, I reversed the sides because I thought the program flowed better that way - start with side 2 to see what I mean. Lucky was more than pleased. OTOH, if you want to order, please do 'cause I'm creating a whirlpool of disappearing cash as I work on 5 reissues and 2 new releases. I hear cds are going away, so I want to be in the wash.
  17. Licenses for the music (compositions, not the recordings) should be obtained. There are a number of different fee schedules (streaming, downloads, etc.).
  18. Entry from Bruyninckx: Piano, vibes, drums. Born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, January 30, 1912. First studied bass but soon switched to piano. Joined Charlie Barnet from 51-54 just before and in between also with Vido Musso 49-52, Georgie Auld 55-56 and Buddy DeFranco 56 all as pianist.
