  1. Sorry I missed this. Happy, happy!!!!!!
  2. How many channels do you need for a 2 track recording. Everything beyond that is an illusion - like phony stereo of 30+ years ago.
  3. Gumbie Eddie Murphy Murphy's Soap
  4. Stained napkin is not a good image for marketing.
  5. I said she would not have had an early career without her father's help and could not understand why her "career" continued after his death unless money was involved. I discovered the answer.
  6. chuck, if memory serves, you were rather disrespectful to the musician with your post. and the thread was in the GET THE WORD OUT forum, a place to post announcements, press releases, etc. you were replying to a press release posting. btw, we have over 9700 bb members and we've banned a grand total of nine people. i don't think anyone has been banned since andy/che. if anyone has any questions about the website (http://www.allaboutjazz.com) and its direction, i'm happy to answer them. if there are musicians on this board with questions about MY AAJ or the calendar, please post them here or email me. i have developed a MY AAJ FAQ for those interested. What I said.
  7. Jim, there has to be some way to start all threads with this quote.
  8. No "live" music tonight. Just a shitload of (ex)Fantasy goods.
  9. Dude, I just noticed--that's the OJC. The K2 (PRCD-7188-2) IS still available.
  10. I've previously seen more of those covers than I choose to disclose.
  11. I've got a used copy of "Lush LIfe" but it's not k-2. Connie's got a used "everything" from 1954-1962.
  12. Hey x, if I can be so informal, didn't you threaten to ban me for saying bad things about one of your "customers"? If I'm limited by what I can say at your place I will (and do) minimize my participation. I don't think I should have to look at your ads before posting an opinion on the board. edit to change the x to lower case.
  13. That's what I thought too. I think he frequently gets mixed up.
  14. Riverside also had a 2 lp Coleman Hawkins "oral history" set.
  15. It was issued in the Miles Davis and the Modern Jazz Giants record.
  16. I believe Avid is a US company hiding under a phony English identity to escape US copyright laws.
  17. I still remember James Carter as a high school student at Blue Lake. He was looking for Wynton records and all I had to give him was a Timeless with Blakey. He was a sweet (but cocky) kid then.
  18. Catesta, do you have a good recipe for pig feet?
  19. Mr Lacy and Mr Waldron were two special humans. Many of us have been "enriched" by their time on earth. Thanks for the reminder.
  20. Used to have both lps and now have nothing. Fine Pepper quartet date. Don't think anyone mentioned this was a Pepper band released under a sideman's name to "escape" an exclusive recording contract. Junkie business from way back.
  21. I placed two orders and received two confirmantions and they seem to be from two different software programs. The first sent a tracking number and the second has not. The first order arrived and if relevant I will post info about the other.
  22. Greg Waits Tom Waits Tom Terrific
  23. BTW, when I first saw the topic I thought it was going to be about Bright Moments, 7/4, Chaney or Chewie.
  24. I got the lp when first issued. I remember the color halfway between the poster and the covers shown.
