  2. Anyone can buy the first volume of Bradford/Stevens from me - it's still in print. There are thousands of People in Sorrow out there. I've been offered $750 for my remaining Bowie original and 500 for one from the next printing. I sold about 10 People in Sorrow and another 10 Les Stances a Sophie test pressings for $25 a piece to a dealer in the EU. Roscoe Mitchell's Nonaah (my current reissue project) seems to be going (outside the US I must say) for $700.
  3. FWIW the original was green on the top (not white) and there was no spine copy on the first 2000. There was also a typo on the back listing the bass player as one Malacki Favors. The address 5875 North Glenwood, Chicago. Lables are orange and rose. Don't know shit about prices but that's the info for an original.
  4. I dislike them. booklet extraction and replacement are a pain and I hate the "lock".
  5. HERE This is the box used by most companies issuing SACDs.
  6. Good luck and have a friggin' blast.
  7. Decter kicks butt on that one.
  8. IIRC, I heard the news driving back from Mpls/St Paul to Madison. We'd gone there to witness a performance conducted by another "personal idol" Jascha Horenstein. We were to have dinner with him after the concert. JH had a violent heart attack on stage in the middle of the concert. The drive back the next day was really depressing.
  9. I like to think she is in France with someone she really loves.
  10. An old friend had a Japanese-American wife. Her parents lived on Long Island and were shocked when they named their firstborn Nathan. They thought he was named for a hot dog.
  11. Once Groucho supposedly said to a woman with 12 children "I love my cigar but I take it out of my mouth occasionally".
  12. Happy Birthday to "just a drummer". All the best Randy.
  13. Free cds all 'round!!!!! What!? No ten-inchers for free? I think you have to walk into Jack's with your own ten-incher.
  14. Isn't it a double? Order the quartet date at the same time.
  15. Was he yelling "hey boy, come look at this before I flush"?
  16. Paul Anka. I think he fixed it with shirts.
  17. Might be in the can already - produced by Phil Schaap. Can't wait to hear the bonus track titled "Lawrence Brown swears".
  18. "the only Pole to break the Top 40"! What about Bobby Vinton?
  19. A Flower Is A Lovesome Thing. Could be why you've been married so damn long. Slap Brenda on the behind for me - with love.
  20. Free cds all 'round!!!!!
  21. This thread (more exactly its predecessor) caused me to burn a copy of my "original". What a wonderful date. I do wish to disagree with an assessment of the date as being similar to the "Spacemen" date. For me it has a very different feel. The tune selection, Nance, Hodges, Carney and (especially) Mr Lawrence Brown are a different kettle of fish. Beautiful!
