  1. I know, it wasn't a daytime show, but still....... Not quite what I had in mind, but definitely a winner.
  2. Oh, PLEASE! We all know that in the entire history of daytime television, there's really only been one soap opera truly worth watching.
  3. Welcome! And I'd think twice about changing your handle to JazzLobster, by the way, 'cause this is what those guys had in mind:
  4. Not in public, I hope!! ....just kidding! Yep, I have an old copy of the set but figured that a spare copy for what works out around £10 for the back pocket would be worth adding. An excuse really though to order the Pepper Complete Village Vanguard and Evans 'Last Waltz' bargain boxes from Newbury too. Yes !! Newbury Is The New Zweitausendeins ! You got those through Amazon Marketplace? Did you get them to combine the shipping cost? And if you did, how?
  5. or math. or myth. or even meth.
  6. That was soooooooooooo.... nerdy. You know you wanted to make Troi's toes curl. I always preferred Beverly Crusher. I guess it was that female doctor thing.
  7. The Henderson Milestone set is still available from Newbury Comics on Amazon Marketplace for $19.99 (plus $2.98 shipping): http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00...9417&sr=1-1
  8. Da Bastids have it for $35.99. Newbury Comics has it on Amazon Marketplace for $19.99. (Dude, stick to teachin' tram-bone to the young'uns, and leave the bargain huntin' to the pros. )
  9. You definitely picked the right woman!
  10. Should be a black marker line, unless they missed it on your set.
  11. Well, I guess that explains why Jim now spends so much time pleasuring himself with his own pies.
  12. Jim, is this true????
  13. Care to share that phone number? (317) 692-9200 I think I read somewhere, maybe even in this thread (!) that they have an 800 number, but I didn't make a note of it. Thanks! They certainly don't go out of their way to publicize a phone number (800 or otherwise), but I did just notice that the number you provided can be found here, on this helpful web site.
  14. Care to share that phone number?
  15. In case anyone missed out, Mosaic must have located more copies of the Mulligan CJB, 'cause it's now showing up in "Last Chance": Mosaic "Last Chance" Page
  16. If you compare the current-day Grammy held by Herbie with the decades-old ones in Chris' photo (especially the speaker bracket on the one on the right lying on its side), it seems that the current-day Grammy lacks the detail and craftsmanship of the older ones: Perhaps an apt metaphor?
  17. How much you want for that hacksaw?
  18. You should use this only if you have Michael play your wedding.
  19. If you want something classic, we chose "Love Is Here To Stay," and it seemed to work pretty well. If you're looking for a recording of it, there's a very nice--and danceable--version on Frank Sinatra's "Songs for Swingin' Lovers: http://www.amazon.com/Songs-Swingin-Lovers...7172&sr=1-1
  20. FWIW, there's a 4-year-old thread on this here.
  21. Newbury Comics customer service phone number: 617-779-5973. I've placed several recent orders with them, both through Amazon and directly through their site. Generally, the orders have shipped the same day or the next business day. For orders directly through their site, Newbury ships by first class or priority (for 13 ounces or over) mail, and not media mail. I can't remember whether they use first class for Amazon orders, but I believe they do. Most of the orders have taken a few days to arrive in Philly, but some have taken a bit longer (due to the Postal Service, and not Newbury).
  22. What's Lon doing to Becky Hodges, and why is she smiling?
  23. Apparently, this is as low as they're gonna go from now on (don't forget the discount codes--CMG3 and CMG4?--that give you an additional 10% off). I think they learned their lesson after the big '06 Blowout, in which they basically gave away (at 3 bucks a pop) brand-new OOP CDs that were going for ridiculous prices on Amazon Marketplace, etc. This time, they even priced the Limited Edition OJCs a bit higher than regular--albeit some already OOP--OJCs. Still, with the sale prices, plus the additional 10% off, plus the buy-9-get-1-free, plus the free shipping for orders of $50 or more, it works out to be a decent deal (around $8 give-or-take for regular OJCs), and a chance to pick up some OOP OJCs for reasonable prices.
  24. Don't forget to also check Newbury Comics' own web site: http://www.newburycomics.com/rel/v2_home.p...03&deptnr=1 Sometimes, the price for a particular item is significantly cheaper there than price Newbury lists on Ebay and/or Amazon.
  25. Becuase you've been possessed by the spirit of Howard Rumsey? 'Cept that at 90 years old, Howard's still with us. (Shit--hope I didn't just jinx him. )
