I would be good with that... Or at least somewhere in the description.... note something like.... "In an effort to remain accurate to the music of the era, which represented a different era of racial history, some listeners may find some of the lyrics offensive...." I think that could have been done....

That doesn't surprise me... but.... when a white performer is doing the song... it takes on a different meaning....

okay I'm listening to Disc 2 of this set... and the song "Ugly Chile" comes up and I'm hearing words "smile like an ape," "nappy" and "who's your pappie?" and I had to go back and play the track 3 times... Do you deem this racist language? As an African-American (and I know about Southern history and culture) I wasn't comfortable with it.... so I'm shipping it back.... You'd think Mosaic could've have left that one out....

Is it my imagination... or has it been a while since the Mosaic set was update with any NEW info???? (Any informed guesses as to what the next boxed set will be???? I'm dying for a Betty Carter set, myself!)

I'm onto Disc 4 and really like this... I'm thrilled to grab this OOP set... I'm still shocked that this was available... The longbox format is fine with me... Does anyone know exactly WHICH Mosaic sets get the longbox treatment? (And why?) I assume the Basie that's up for sale over at the uk amazon site, is longbox???

Well it arrived today... Its a long box format and it looks like the the liner notes are in the same format. I haven't opened it yet... but I'm glad I got this LONG gone set.... If it looks like a Mosaic, sounds like a Mosaic..... then it must be....

But having read the other threads that is the German one... right? I bought mine from amazon.co.uk. not amazon.de and I've seen the other picture. The picture on the UK website looks just like a Mosaic cover....
