Disc 4 Onto the Farmer/Golson set discs 1 -2... I have to say that out of the relatively new sets... this one gets a lot of airplay... For those who have not coughed up the $$$$ You might want to get this one...

Finishing up the pleasantly surprising positive Lou Donaldson set with Discs 5 and 6.... :

Up to Disc 4... it is quite a good set... If you're on the fence... get the Capitol jazz set... but put this on the "get when running low" list... Lou Donaldson Disc 1... I had a fair amount of Lou before... but this is better than I thought ti would be ....

I'm glad for you... but I couldn't deal with just how BAD the sound quality was..... I donated my copy to the library a few years ago...

I went for the Capitol Sessions... no interest in the Condon....

I've got my system down pat... This set gets played in car... and the Mosaics get played working at home... (FYI right now.. got that Bud Freeman single going... It's good but hard to follow that Slide Hampton!! But thus I digress... ) I am really surprised by how much I like this set...I've got A LOT of 'Trane Impulse stuff and of course the stuff with Miles... but this was/is really enjoyable.... I picked this up in the Concord sale--haven't even had a chance to play a single disc yet. Oh well, maybe next year.

Slide Hampton Drum Suite... Way better than I expected....

I have to say I'm on Disc 7... and I am thrilled to have this... It's so interesting (and enjoyable) to hear a lot of his early playing... So much of his Impulse life was what's always been on the market... The price on this puppy was absolutely absurd!!! A HUGE

HAH!!!! My largesse paid off since I ordered the Classic Capitol Sessions a few months ago.... For ONCE I'm all set....

Just switched to the MASSIVELY enjoyable NOW OOP Mulligan Concert Jazz Band set... Damn this is good... Much better than I remember...

Onto John Patton Disc 3... (I'm doing some serious Mosaic catch up listening...!

Okay just finished Disc 1... My attention got better...!! I like this set... (The drum snare thing kinda bugged me a little bit) Okay onto Disc 2... I think I like it... but I must be honest I'm kinda distracted.... Tony Williams Disc 3.... Didn't have any of these records... looking forward to it.. Big fan of Bill Pierce (local homie) and Mulgrew.... although I could do without Wallace Roney,,,

Finishing up Disc 1.. reverse order...Disc 2 didn't thrill me... but the 1st disc is good.. Overall I'm not sure... Ironically I thought the Xmas music was the best part of the set...

The background vocals on the 1st half of Disc 3 are killing me... I hate that stuff. (Same reason why I trashed the Dinah Washington set)... Now it's onto the Xmas part of Disc 3.. so far I'm liking this part....

Just started the controversial Duke Pearson Select - Disc 3.... This is nasty.... I hope it gets MUCH better - FAST! Otherwise this puppy might be on it's way back to Stamford Ct.....

As I grade final exams... it's a Mosaic weekend... Onto Curtis Amy Select disc 3... It's funny when I first bought this set... I hated it... (Only gave it one listen and thought it had WAY too much organ...) I then gave it away.... After hearing some more raves on this board.. I decided my premature jettisoning of the set was wrong... Right now I'm digging it... So to all of you who plugged this set.... Thanks!

Okay - Overall I give it a moderate thumbs up... I Discs 1 and 2 much better than three... Just started Disc 3.... coming down in my enthusiam a tiny bit....

Andrew Hill Solo Select - Disc 1... We'll see... Onto Disc 2 and I'm liking it a lot...

Just finished listening to the Lee Wiley Single.... Didn't really work for me.. I didn't have any of her stuff and thought this was a good intro... I swear... Mosaic hit it big with the Anita O'Day set but IMHO every other vocal set

Please do and let us know what they say.... Me too, even though I have almost all on LP. Anyone heard when it is actually shipping? I am probably going to drop them a quick note if no one else has any news.

Either not many of us have not purchased this set yet or are backed up in Mosaic queue but the lack of enthusiasm for this set is a little unnerving.... What gives?

I'm eager to listen to this.. (Been way backed up and too far too busy.... ) but I don't think I've seen ONE single comment on this set?? What's the scoop? And why the silence????

Buddy Rich Disc 4... I know some of this board this is the equivalent of giving Wynton a Mosaic set.. but I like this set!!!
