  4. Apparently they regard most, if not all music released on Verve as jazz. They're obviously very broad-minded...
  5. It is just a prefix of product numbers for CDs manufactured by Polygram of Japan. POCJ = Po(lygram) C(D) J(azz) TOCJ = To(shiba) C(D) J(azz) TOCP = To(shiba) C(D) P(opular)
  6. Sorry John, I should've known...
  7. Frog Records message re David French
  8. Have a great day, John!
  9. Tell me about it...
  10. Good to see someone finally grabbed the Edwards.
  11. Yes, there is: changing foreign cash, and cashing foreign checks and money orders is very expensive and time-consuming in the Netherlands, and sometimes foreign checks and money orders aren't even accepted. Buyers in the euro zone can pay me via electronic bank transfers, though.
  12. Boy, haven't heard that kind of attitude since, oh, about 1941-1945. In Europe WWII began in 1939, not 1941.
  13. Happy birthday.
  14. Well, except for "A Change is Gonna Come." That song IS Sam Cooke. Very true.
  15. Why don't you ask Hiroshi Tanno of Early Records, Fukuoka City, Japan: hiroshi@earlyrecords.com.
  16. The Teddy Edwards is really a great album! Amazing that it's still available...
  17. It's now Friday, December 10 over here, so: happy birthday Dmitry!
  18. I have a few of Jimmy Webb's albums. The best in my opinion is El Mirage, released by Atlantic in 1977. I pre-ordered the set from CDUniverse at $62.99.

    Art Farmer

I'd recommend a few of Farmer's later albums, with Clifford Jordan on several tracks: Something to Live For: The Music of Billy Strayhorn - Contemporary CCD-14029 Blame It on My Youth - Contemporary CCD-14042 Ph.D. - Contemporary CCD-14055 His later Jazztet-like albums with Curtis Fuller and Benny Golson: Real Time - Contemporary CCD-14034 Back to the City - Contemporary/OJC OJCCD-842 aren't bad either
  20. Thanks Jim (no need to apologize, by the way). Why don't you pin this thread?
  21. Could you give us an update, Jim?
