  1. And Herbie's aren't necessarily going to say the mats aren't as compatible with Rega's. I believe you. I just have a Debut III. Nothing great.
  2. Nice!
  3. I have the Herbie's mat. I was very surprised at the change in sound. I'm not one for the hocus pocus, but the first LP I played with the new mat was Coltrane Ballads and the bass, air, realism what have you was astonishing. Now I'm completely accustomed to it of course, but the difference wasn't marginal, even for me.
  4. Thanks for sharing Allen. Thanks Moms for the Big Joe Williams clip!
  5. Happy Birthday Lon! Sorry I missed it!
  6. This piece gets significant mention in the following novel, if I remember correctly.
  7. I just don't get it. Seems to me he was a handsome man before the alterations. To each his own. I imagine there is a certain amoun of remorse that comes with elective facial surgery.
  8. Live At Small's is a perfect example. I once sold this to a board member who returned it to me because of a scratch that I cannot see. I wish I knew who it was so that I could thank them for saving me from making a major mistake.
  9. Yeah. I saw that. My mistake.
  10. I didn't think the opening was until tomorrow?
  11. That one (in B&W) was included as 1/4 of the inner front cover of New York Is Now!. Indeed. Lots of cool stuff I'd never seen though!
  12. Perhaps I should put this in the Sandusky thread.
  13. Doesn't sound like any of you made it out, but there are a couple of nice videos from the set to check out. http://scottwclark.wordpress.com/2012/07/24/new-scottclark4tet-videos/
  14. I'm sure that was an enjoyable conversation!
  15. I have bought dozens of albums after previewing them on Spotify. I know a few other friends that have been using Spotify the same way. It happens!
  16. That's great Don!
  17. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing!
  18. Don, he was three months so it's hard to know for certain. My daughter is almost three. She asks for Charlie Parker and Bud Powell on occasion, which is an absolute thrill! When she was slightly younger, I remember her dancing ecstatically to Albert Ayler! I just haven't listened to Ayler in a bit.
  19. Yeah, ok, so maybe I just didn't have it turned up enough before. Or it could be the new interconnects?
  20. I did notice the print-through this morning. Especially at the beginning of Eeltwo on Side 2. I wouldn't let this deter you from hearing the music though.
  21. Thanks for the story Marty!
