Man, this was the album that introduced me to jazz! I still have my dad's vinyl copy. I also agree that this is my favorite edition of the Messengers, and I've been digging the RVGs of their material!

Uhhh, can they not do the math here? This is indeed sad.

I've been waiting for this one since the RVG series started! Won't be waiting for BMG/yourmusic to get this one!

That’s interesting; I’d always heard that vinyl pressed in the late 70’s and early 80’s wasn’t all that good quality. Does it depend on the setup one has? In any case, I never cared for the old CD versions and have been hoping for sonic upgrades. From what I hear, even the 2.0 mixes are still eons better than their current counterparts.

Between these and the RVGs, Feb. 7 is gonna be break-the-bank day for some folks!

It's just the studio albums. Now, the DVD of SMS has a couple of 5.1 mixes, a studio one and a "film soundtrack" one, whatever that means. So, I guess that's one of the reasons why the SMS CD isn't part of this reissue campaign.

Or he could just simply ignore the thread. Nothing keeps a thread alive quicker than someone posting inside it saying how much they dislike it!

Man, those folks get into their music WAY more seriously than I ever could.

The first four Talking Heads albums are released today as DualDiscs, with a remastered version and bonus tracks on one side, and a 5.1 Surround Sound remix with videos on the other. Gonna be picking these up with gift certificates received over Christmas. Did anyone pick up the box from which these discs came? Can anyone comment on the sound, the 5.1 remix, the bonus stuff? Wonder if BMG/yourmusic will be carrying these soon, if at all?

It's even higher when one avoids the political forums altogether! That said, I greatly appreciate everything Jim, Joe, Randy, and Use3D do for all of us. Thanks guys!

I’ve only kinda breezed thru the disc at this point, and I don’t have it with me right now (forgot to bring it to work, DRAT!!!), but I want to thank you for putting “Gypsy Blue” on here. Now, I don’t know who does the version that’s on the BFT (and haven’t looked at anyone else’s guesses yet), but as soon as I heard it, I tried to remember what it was and found myself digging out my CD of Freddie Hubbard’s OPEN SESAME and Tina Brooks’ TRUE BLUE to listed to the version I know. Pretty much been listening to that disc nonstop as a result!

Happy birthday, Jeff! Needless to say we miss you dearly around these parts!

Track 1 HAS to be Horace Silver! I'm sure I don't have this album, but will probably amend that once I find out the answer! More guesses later. Had to get that one outta the way!
