  1. RAID Wasp & Hornet Killer. Works every time. I even leave the nests hanging as warnings to other wasps. Seems to do the trick!
  2. My pleasure! Can't wait to hear it; especially since I just ordered the other Chet Baker instrumental K@ Riversides from Barnes & Noble (seems they don't carry this one for some strange reason!)
  3. PM sent, re: CHET What timing!!!
  4. Agreed. And you're right: I did find other things ot fill the cart with.... (No, Skid; not another Styx album. I swear!)
  5. Maybe I shoulda put this in Offering & Looking For!
  6. Had the RVG for a while, only listening to it tonight for the first time. Gotta love "The Dip" which sounds like it wants to be another Sidewinder-type but then it has that kick in the seventh bar wher it just kinda dangles, except for Higgins & Mabern just dancin' all around it. Can't wait to listen to the rest of this album! Agree above with Lee/Hank and/or Lee/Jackie (and of course, the heavenly Lee/Hank/Jackie on Cornbread!). Love it all!
  7. I've got a $50 gift card from Barnes & Noble and I'm trying to get the three Riverside albums that Chet Baker recorded without vocals. Since they've all been released in the 20-bit series, I'd like to get those; however, I can't seem to find CHET! bn.com appears to have LERNER & LOEWE and IN NEW YORK in their 20-bit configurations, but not CHET! And I even tried searching by ISBN (or ASBN or UPC or whatever number is assigned to CDs). Any help would be certainly appreciated. Maybe someones seen it at the local brick&mortar B&N's around town. Thanks!
  8. Apprently the media doesn't pay attention to him, either.....
  9. The "What Ongoing Thread Do You Never Look At?" thread. (My apologies if this joke's already been used. I told ya I didn't read this thread!)
  10. No kidding? Hell, I may return to the politics forum for THAT! And Johnny, I should told ya yesterday: 36 ain't that big a deal. Now that we're the same age again, I can breathe a little easier!
  11. Skid, i'm sure he is
  12. Happy birthday, bro! Sure miss ya in the jazz threads (either that, or I’m not reading the right ones!)
  13. Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!!!!
  14. Oh yeah, I'm 36 today. Still have the mind of a 12-yr-old, though!
  15. Only one thing better than a birthday and that’s a birthday thread at Organissimo! You guys are da best! Hans, as always, thanks for starting the festivities so I can start celebrating a day early! Jim R, the bill for the sambawich is on its way by carrier bastbird. He takes credit cards. (He oughta, he took mine!) Skid, you are one sick MF. Don’t ever change. And thank you for posting a picture WITHOUT Dennis DeYoung! Mikeweil, du ist sehr wunderbar, mein gut freund! Lon, I’d thought I was gonna have BBQ tonight, but DAMN those fajitas look good! Trudy’s?  JSngry, sorry I missed the gig last night, and I’m sure you’re more tired of hearing it than I am of saying it, but I still feel bad. Have no idea what ZOOP means, but it made me laugh and that’s all that matters. Johnny, don’t feel bad my friend: for a whole day, I get to be older than you! Come tomorrow, well.... Everyone else, thank y’all! For emptying my wallet, for making me laugh, for making me think, for everything. Thank you! Back to the party!

Probably. I just remember when this came out, when rock & roll seemed all but dead to me, putting this on in the Walkman while I was doing the lawn; that opening riff to “Country Home” and off it went! Never had so much fun mowing the lawn in my life! Plus, I can’t think of a better Neil record for blazin’ down the highway! I’ll grant ya side two starts to falter, but the sum is greater than the parts, so lop off a few extraneous tracks and I’ve got one helluva 45-minute record. Also dug ARC/WELD which came out later (and is it me, or did it seem for a while there that Neil was starting to become like the Who/Stones/McCartney monolith in that, with each passing studio record there came another live album?)
  17. Happy birthday! If you were born 1970, then you & I are the exact same age!
  18. For all of one day, I get to be four years older than you. I plan on enjoying it; hope you do the same, youngster! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

How about a little love for Ragged Glory? One of THE great guitar albums of all time.
  20. Listening to TOM CAT right now. My goodness, I love this album!!! Which makes it all the more surprising that I traded this away so many years ago; what the heck was I thinking? As far as sound goes, I don't remember the McMaster sounding THIS good! This CD smokes!!! Glad to have it back in my collection!
  21. They do now, but oddly enough, Silver's Serenade is not on that page, even though it's listed on the New Releases page. Have y'all seen the reviews of these on AMG by Thom Jurek? Man, talk about overboard.....
  22. Understood! Along those same lines, I think my favorite session of JOS with Art Blakey at the skins are the three tracks that ended up on SIX VIEWS OF THE BLUES. Very understated, yet solid as a rock!
  23. Seems strange that this one would get the RVG treatment. It just came out as a Conn in '98! Isn't this the only time Philly Joe was on a JOS record?
