I have a 20 gig and i am very unhappy with the capacity. Witht the amount of music that most of us have, it would be nice to have most of it on the ipod. I listen to mine a couple hours a day, but you never know what you might be in the mood for. I find i have to delete and add albums all the time. I would MUCH prefer 100gb, and when one comes out that will be my next ipod upgrade. 60 isnt even enough for me. And ipods are already small enough, a little thicker or heavier wont bug me at all.

Even if they are discountinued, they will still be available, and probably cheaper. Here is the last generation (color, no video) for only 300: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebO...0.8.25.7.11.9.3

Im guessing AJ kills junior, and that is how he gets pulled into the mob. I really hope there is no more dream sequence next week. I was amazed at fake Tonys voice change, very subtle but a great 'lame white middle america' accent.

BMG music club Bastards..not the good kind of
md655321 replied to BERIGAN's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I was talking to an associate the other day who is good friends with a postman. Apparently, BMG NEVER pays for the return shipping on item, even 100% playable and unopened product. Apparently its cheaper to manufacture the cd than pay the shipping. So, atleast one post office keeps them and the postal workers get free reign of all the 'returned' cds. Sounds odd to me, but i makes me think about changing professions. -

Selling RVG-Connoisseur-20bit K2-Box Sets

Well I certainly apologize if I offended you, but based on your original post it sure read like the music was still on the ipod, which is borne out by the fact that so many others read it the same way. I don't think that most of us were in a position to divine your true intentions, and I am sure you will have no problem selling any remaining discs, at very fair prices indeed. Again, my apologies. -
AWESOME! top o' my queue. is it any good? just got into parker recently and have LOVED his stuff. but only have acoustic discs so far.

I enjoy Terry quite a bit, but someonething about her style often rankles me. She seems to allow to much space at times and just assumes the interviewee will fill it up. This is especially true with some people who clearly dont prefer to talk ad nauseum, like the Motian interview. Way too many pauses, and way too many 'uh...yeah..can you keep talking about that...) Plus, quite often her lack of knowledge gets her when she is asking very in depth questions. I enjoy the questions, but she doesnt repond to answers very well. Again, dont get me wrong, I listen to her show all the time and think its great. But I think she gets way too much credit for the show, when its usually the quality of guests that makes the show so good.

I gotta agree with Chuck here. This is hardly legal or ethical. -
Artists that retired at the top of their game.
md655321 replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Miscellaneous Music
The reason so few great artists retire is because that NEED to play is exactly what made them great in the first place. An obvious one that pulled a Michael Jordan was Miles. -
NFL 2006 - Offseason/Draft/Free Agency

Definitely a crazy offseason so far. Alot of big names jumping ship, and a few big names still out there. -
AS they say, if there is a gun in act one, someone will get shot by act three. All I can say is WOW for tonights episode. A little slow, but quite a little ending.

Contents of the car before the break-in: 20gb Ipod Gibson Les Paul guitar (in the trunk) 3 or 4 cds (including the recent yourmusic purchase of the K2 of Everybody Digs Bill Evans) One book. Contents after the break-in: 20gb Ipod Gibson Les Paul guitar 3 or 4 cds (including the recent yourmusic purchase of the K2 of Everybody Digs Bill Evans) One book Some broken glass. Weird shit. Especially because stuff was moved around. The ipod was in the glove compartment, then on the floor, the seat was moved back, and the arm rest was moved. Guess the guy got spooked and ran off. Or maybe he just really hates jazz. As far break ins go, this was an A+ one on my end.

Well then. They are rerunning it tonight at 12 am, and tomorrow at 11pm. Check it out!

Anyone check this show out? It premiered last night. It is a reality show that paints a white family black and vice versa. They actually do a pretty good job with the makeup. So far the white parents are complete idiots, but their daughter is actually quite insightful and intelligent. (That is, until she read a poem from her iBook at a slam poetry class.) Looks to be a very interesting series. They have already dealt with race in a MUCH more intelligent and throught provoking way than a very recent Oscar-winner that I thought was terrible Any thoughts?

One of my first jazz records was Shape of Jazz to Come. When I first got it I simply coudnt understand why is considered so revolutionary. It sounded the same as Miles' Relaxin or Trane's Giant Steps. Needless to say, after 6 or so months of jazz listening I went back to it and my ears were ready. And Immediately my world was fucked up, and it was GREAT. Happy B-Day Ornette! And many more!

One amazing find Ive been listening to lately is his VH1 Storytellers performance from 1999. Just great stories, often not relating to the song but funny enough, followed by great performances. Ive never had the opportunity to see him live, but I hope to someday. As for film appearances I like them all, but his scene with Iggy Pop in Coffee and Cigarettes is just great, with Iggy trying his best to act cool and impress the unimpressable Tom Waits.

I tried seraching for a Tom Waits corner, and unless I am blind or stupid or both, I could not find one. No doubt there are many rabid Waits fans on this site, and I certainly consider myself part of that group. I could go on for hours on what I love about Tom Waits, so I will just start with a nifty quote I just came across. "Here's something i stumbled upon at my daughter's birthday party: I rubbed the outside of a large tight balloon and obtained the familiar screaming warble you hear when clowns are making balloon animals. I found that if you put cornstarch on your hands and "play" it, it sounds very much like an Eric Dolphy solo, or a monkey with its hair on fire." - Tom Waits I would say the pretty well encapsulates many of the aspects that makes me love the man and his music. Additionally I will be playing in a jazz duo (2 guitars) on friday where we will be covering an instrumental version of the classic 'In the Neighborhood." Should be fun.

I was mainly just joking around. As I've said, I've been to every Bonnaroo and I'm heavy into both the jam and jazz scene. I think there is SOME aspects of lazy musicianship in the jazz scene (as in a few cats learn mixolydian and just stop there and think they are advanced cats) but for the most part the musicianship is at quite a high level, and really brings rock up to a level that makes an easy handoff to jazz fandom.
