  1. Rest in peace, Armando from Chelsea, MA.
  2. Can't decide which I dislike more, V-8 or Moxie.
  3. I think the OP was correct. It's Tony Mottola. Plaid flannel shirts make you think of the 2000s? Grunge aside, Pendleton Mills introduced wool plaid shirts for men in 1924.
  4. I forgot to mention that the piano player in the photo I posted is Carl Fischer.
  5. Your photo comes from a recording session led by singer Frankie Lane in NYC sometime between 1946 & 1948. Unfortunately, I could not find information about the identities of the other musicians. I think Mitch Miller was the producer of that date, as he is seen in some of the pictures. Here's another Gottlieb photo from that session:
  6. Although he was first diagnosed in 2016, I only learned today that Tony Bennett is suffering from Alzheimer's. According to the latest edition of AARP magazine, he endures “increasingly rarer moments of clarity and awareness.” “He's not the old Tony anymore,” his wife, Susan, told the magazine. “But when he sings, he's the old Tony.” Very sad to say the least. Associated press
  7. A wonderful actor and a role model for women of color in the sixties. Rest easy.
  8. 'A boomerang effect': Hank Aaron's death is falsely linked to Covid vaccine Oklahoma seeking to return $2M worth of hydroxychloroquine
  9. I didn't think you were drawing a conclusion of causality (you're too smart for that). I just thought it was important to point out that the message of the OP's source differs significantly from that of responsible journalists.
  10. I disagree, Lon. Legitimate sources are not suggesting there is any link between his vaccination and his death. The "author" of the cited "article" identifies himself as a "Former Honda engineer turned stay-at-home papa. Teeth model (yes, really). Republican. Car freak. KAG!"
  11. And your point is what? This fake "news story" comes from a disreputable source known for its conservative bias in spewing anti-scientific disinformation and biblical conspiracy theories.
  12. He is the one man that Muhammad Ali said he idolized “more than myself.” He became known to the world as “Hammerin’ Hank.” Legendary Atlanta Brave and Major League Baseball record holder Hank Aaron died Friday at the age of 86, according to Aaron’s daughter. WSB-TV Atlanta
  13. It is, but not this generation, which was discontinued in 2015. These are refurbished units that can be upgraded to iOS 9, but cannot run later versions (iOS 13 came out last fall).

  15. I agree with bresna, do not microwave them. Deep fry is the only way to go.
  16. If you haven't donated yet, please do.
  17. C'mon folks, pitch in. The need is great and immediate.
  18. Much thanks to the OP for making us aware of CJ's situation. Donation sent, along with some good thoughts.
  19. How many versions of Soul Station does one need?
  20. Case closed? Wiki mentions that Chambers played baritone sax in a high school band sometime between 1952 and 1955. Since he was playing bass with Miles from 1955-1963, I have my doubts that he played the big horn in a pick up band. Regardless, thank you for sharing the info about your father and grandfather. The stories they must have shared with you!
  21. If you would provide us with your father's name and some idea of when the photo was taken, we might be more able to help.
  22. Did any of you actually watch the video I posted? I only ask because I found the peoples' reactions to be very funny and quite entertaining.
  23. I call them "Charbucks" because they over-roast everything. I like my beans dark and oily. Peets is my favorite place to buy them.
