  1. If you like Robin Hood, you should check out 1935's Captain Blood, a classic swashbuckler that first paired de Havilland with Errol Flynn. Rest peacefully, Ms. de Havilland, and thank you.
  2. That's 256 gigabytes, not kilobytes. Have you considered replacing your current player with an inexpensive unlocked android phone like the Motorola G7 Play? Currently, it's $133 on amazon, and you can buy a microSD card that holds up to 512GB.
  3. All of these sets are available for streaming on Spotify, including the 18-disc Nat King Cole set.
  4. Better to look like a dope than to be one.
  5. Has anyone asked Jim A what he thinks? This is his board, after all.
  6. Roger Rosenberg, baritone & soprano sax, bass clarinet; Mark Soskin, piano; Peter Bernstein, guitar (#6 only); Chip Jackson, bass; Jeff Brillinger, drums. 2009 Sunnyside SSC1221.
  7. 31 MLB players, 7 staff test positive for COVID-19, or 1.2% Also worth noting is the fact that the positive tests occurred among 19 of the 30 teams.
  8. What the fuck, SS. You think this video of assault and battery is cool, funny or justified? I don't think this kind of thing should be graphically displayed on the forum and have asked Jim to remove it. Or, you could save him the trouble and delete it yourself.
  9. Truly one the geniuses of comedy, and a personal hero of mine. R.I.P. sir, and thank you for the humor, the laughter and the humanity. People.com
  10. I apologize for my comment to your Ray Charles post. I have deleted my post. If you delete your reply to me, all traces of our exchange will be eliminated. Again, sorry.

  11. "She" is a he, and his member name is Moms Mobley. He used to be Clementine. Unlike you, I do not miss his incendiary contributions to the board. Your occasional provocations are more than plenty for me.
  12. A simple question for me. No.
  13. Cover of the original 1999 release. 2CD follow-up recorded at the 2000 North Sea Jazz Festival.
  14. A lot of people are struggling financially right now. As good as this recording might be, it's hardly a necessity.
  15. From the NYT: Willis marches through a catalog of originals and classics, including “Climax,” a zipping modal composition by Jack DeJohnette that was one of the pieces he recorded with McLean at those early sessions, in that same studio, more than 50 years before.
  16. Just received this from Bandcamp: This Friday, June 5th (from midnight to midnight PDT), we’re once again waiving our revenue share for all sales on Bandcamp to support artists impacted by Covid-19. We’ve put together a list of artists and labels preparing special releases for Friday, including those donating their share to organizations in support of racial justice and change. In addition, on Friday, June 19th, we’re donating 100% of our share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, a racial justice organization with a long history of effectively enacting change through litigation, advocacy, and public education.

  18. Every week or so I get credit card applications and other unsolicited offers in the mail. I barely look at them let alone open the envelope. I just toss it in the recycling bin without a second thought. This morning, I read that some people may accidentally have tossed their stimulus payment in the trash because it looks like junk mail. The return address on the plain, white envelope is "Money Network Cardholder Services". Typical junk mail, right? So I take a look in the recycling bin and sure enough, there it was! If you're expecting a mailed stimulus payment, you can check on the status of your payment here: get my payment And here's the article that that got my attention: nbcnews/business
  19. His last name is spelled with a "z", not an "s".
