  1. Norman Harris, founder of Norman's Rare Guitars, revealed he has a rare form of cancer a few days ago. According to his daughter Sarah, "Tuesday was my dad’s surgery and it was 14 hours long and included something called a chemo bath, which will HOPEFULLY help him avoid having to do chemo. On top of everything he’s been through with the surgery - two nights later, he had a widow-maker heart attack." For those unfamiliar with Norman's Rare Guitars, Harris opened his store in Los Angeles in February, 1975. While they also cater to beginner and student customers, Norman's is best known for its rare and investment-grade instruments and the professionals and celebrities who seek them out. I enjoy checking out their website to drool over the vintage archtops they have for sale, some of which are $38,000. 8. Here's info from Wiki on two of the OP's other sources: “The Daily Caller is a right-wing news and opinion website based in Washington, D.C. It was founded by now-Fox News host Tucker Carlson and political pundit Neil Patel in 2010…The website publishes articles that dispute the scientific consensus on climate change…Scott Greer was deputy editor at The Daily Caller. After his departure in June 2018, it was revealed that he published articles espousing white nationalist, racist anti-black and antisemitic views under a pseudonym in white supremacist publications.” “Townhall is an American politically conservative website, print magazine and radio news service. Previously published by The Heritage Foundation…In November 2021, a study by the Center for Countering Digital Hate described Townhall as being among "ten fringe publishers" that together were responsible for nearly 70 percent of Facebook user interactions with content that denied climate change.” GA Russell: It appears you get much of your news from racist, right-wing organizations that spread disinformation. Of course, you are entitled to your own opinions based on whatever sources you choose. Unless your mission is to encourage the spread of lies, please check your sources and again, save your political/social views for another platform.

  11. According to Wiki: "The Epoch Times is a far-right international multi-language newspaper and media company affiliated with the Falun Gong new religious movement." You really should check your sources before you post this bullshit. Remember your post from a racist source two weeks ago? Better yet, why not avoid sharing political material altogether.
  12. I have the 2014 Blue Note TYCJ-81075 reissue. The saw solo is there, loud and proud. I'm not a fan, but I agree with the originalists here. I especially dislike the echo effect, although the end result makes it sound like whales, whom I do like.

  16. You mean "the Bergmans", of course.
  17. Marilyn Bergman was an Oscar, Emmy & Grammy-winning lyricist, not a composer. She and her husband Alan collaborated with Marvin Hamlisch ("The Way We Were"), Lew Spence ("Nice 'n' Easy"), Quincy Jones ("In the Heat of the Night"), Michel Legrand ("The Windmills of Your Mind") and many others. "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" was composed by Legrand, with lyrics by the Bergmans.

  19. Its Happy New Year, and I wish you well in 2022.
  20. Betty White has left us just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. I liked so much about her - her comedic sense, her good-natured personality and her love and advocacy of animal rights, to name a few. Rest easy Ms. White, and thank you.
  21. Thank you, Ken, and best wishes for the New Year.
  22. John Madden, a legendary figure known to one generation as a Hall of Fame coach, another generation as the sport’s greatest announcer, and yet another generation for the video game that bears his name, has died at the age of 85. The NFL announced Madden’s passing today. Madden’s influence on the sport of football is impossible to overstate. He was the youngest head coach in pro football when Al Davis hired him to coach the Oakland Raiders, and he led them to a Super Bowl title while having so much success that he still has the all-time highest winning percentage among all coaches who won at least 100 games.
  23. My favorite Bunky.
