  1. I always liked this photo. I imagine that Lee just said something nasty, and Curtis reacts with a "eww!".
  2. Who cares about the title? Are you going to stare at the cover or enjoy the photography within?

    Mingus

This photo was taken by Kathy Sloan at the Keystone Korner in 1975. It's fairly easy to find such info with a google image search.
  4. Really? Why? Cyrus is a social activist, offering her time and money to support programs for LGBT youth, the homeless, animal welfare, etc. Sounds like the kind of spirit that characterized a lot of the artists who performed at Woodstock.
  5. or you can listen to it for free on Spotify.
  6. Right? Heck, even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.
  7. Although he's not my favorite vibist, I enjoy Samuels' contributions to these albums: Perhaps you were thinking of his appearance with this singer?
  8. Not as good (bad) as this one:
  9. It's the Newark 1953 tracks for download from Stardust Records (2012).
  10. When I first saw the title of this thread I thought to myself, "Crap. Here's another recently deceased jazz artist that I've never heard of". Anyway, I love nuts, and that's not just because I'm a clinical psychologist. Trader Joe's 50% lower sodium peanuts are great to eat when I'm watching baseball. I used to enjoy pistachios with my Dad. With his arthritic hands, I was the "designated sheller". I also like assorted nuts, as long as there aren't too many peanuts in the mix. Trader Joe's has a "Just A Handful of Simply The Best Almonds, Cashews & Cranberries Trek Mix" that comes in small snack bags. A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel attached to his dick. The bartender asks him why, and the pirate replies, "Argh, it’s driving me nuts."
  11. People who are in pain. People whose lives are limited by physical ailments. People who suffer from depression due to their chronic discomfort. People who are vulnerable to promises of hope and relief. That's who.
  12. Mick Jagger doing well after heart valve replacement
  13. That's an understatement.
  14. Big Bongos fan here. I worked at a Boston nightclub in the early-to-mid eighties, and the Bongos were considered prime power-pop. Have you discovered Tommy Keene? If not, I think you'll really like his early work. Additionally, I suggest you check out Translator, Split Enz and the Hoodoo Gurus.
  15. What about harmonics? Do you not consider them to be a part of the listening experience?

    Dick Dale RIP

Legendary "surf" guitarist Dick Dale has passed away at the age of 81. Dale was close friends with Leo Fender, the inventor of the Stratocaster, which helped to revolutionize rock guitar, and together, they invented the first 100-watt amplifier to handle the input with which Dale had destroyed an estimated 48 standard 30-watt boxes, according to Fender's company. "Dale and Fender would continue to work together on upping the ante, building a speaker cabinet that could house two 15-inch speakers to sustain his vicious riffage." NBC News
  17. Happy Birthday Mr. Haynes!
  18. USC is a private school. Kevin, Please take the time to fully read an article on what the indicted parties allegedly did and what they are being charged with. Hopefully you'll change your mind and abandon this "no harm done", "all parents do stuff for their kids" argument.
  19. Solid state drives are fast and expensive. Speed and portability are not the most important features in backing up a music library. You want more storage space at a cheaper price. You can get eight times the storage space for less money than the product you listed. Here's one I use that provides 4TB for only $90: WD 4TB Elements Desktop Hard Drive - USB 3.0 - WDBWLG0040HBK-NESN
