  1. That's a great shame, only very belatedly came to her music and have enjoyed most all that I have heard

6 copies now, I just ordered one. Bit of a punt but Lee/Hampel is a favourite combination so willing to risk it

That just sounds great, and what a festival line up! Black Truffle get good UK distribution so I'd think a US distributor like Forced Exposure might take it, no?
  4. I'm with you in that minority. I always think GBG a bit too long, would have made a better single LP (yes, I know the Japanese edition is single but has all the music).
  5. Yes, I think so. I was a poor student at the time so was pleased. I shall revisit it over the weekend I have just booked a ticket for the Black Sabbath ballet at London's leading dance venue! Contemporary ballet interpretations of and set to Sabbath tunes It has the Tony Iommi's stamp of approval and was a big hit in Birmingham where it opened, danced by their very well respected city ballet. Should be a blast. A rush of nostalgia at the very least
  6. Three more Paul Dunmall CDs from FMR. I have a good number but can't resist adding to them now and again
  7. I remember that coming out the first time...
  8. Motorhead at Montreux Jazz, now I like that idea. And, a cover of 'Rosalie' too, what's not to like there
  9. Maurice Louca - Elephantine [Sub Rosa, Belgium 2019]
  10. Asher Gamedze - Turbulence And Pulse [International Anthem/Mushroom Half Hour, US&SA, 2023]
  11. Streaming it now, sounds interesting. Thanks for posting it
  12. I can understand that. Such a very special tune on a very special album
  13. Thanks, coincidentally one of my near locals has a copy. I might try and go in to give it a preview
  14. How's the Lee? I've nearly bought it a couple of times
  15. The vagaries of fortune...and football Everton continue their ever more tenuous grasp of the Premier League. They may well go down next year along with Luton and probably Sheffield United.
  16. Half time and Leicester are the best placed of the three...
  17. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_use_disorder I just wondered about your statement TTK and did a search. I certainly know that what's available these days is a lot stronger than when I partook and wondered if there was any recent research suggesting addiction. It would seem that there is a suggestion that its constituent elements might be addictive. Most of the results were from rehab organisations so I discounted them as they may well be biased. I do not mean to make any judgement here, I was just interested to see what current thinking is. I also realise this is hijacking the thread, so mods please delete if necessary
  18. I need to catch up on that one
  19. I was very taken by his contributions to Lenox Avenue Breakdown yesterday. I had forgotten he was on it. Don't know the one you posted though. Have a fair few LPs,all of which are more than listenable
  20. I always think it's a shame that this line-up didn't record more
  21. I have about six of them and I'm very pleased with them all. No sonic issues, lovely pressings, good quality production on the covers. As to whether they're worth the cost I think that's probably an individual choice but I don't regret spending the UK price of about £35 on mine.
  22. Yes, absolutely. Definitely not alone but a signature album in a trend
  23. Agreed, it took me too many years to fully appreciate it for the masterpiece that it is. Quintessentially English, is how I hear ot now, steeped in a tradition of English romanticism (although I may be guilty of overthinking it 😀). And yes, Norma's voice is very special. I remember hearing her live for the first time at one of Kenny Wheeler's birthday concerts (the one released by ECM) and being completely knocked out.
