  1. Born To Run Never noticed before that a Richard Davis plays bass on 'Meeting Across The River'. I'm assuming it's the Richard Davis? Quick online check suggests as much. From Igor to The Boss! Don't remember mention of him in the autobiography - I'm sure I would have noted that
  2. €32 post inc., direct from label. Ordered
  3. I think there may have been footage of this,or similar, in the recent Graves documentary. Certainly looked very exciting. I do like 'Meditation Among us' which is of a similar vintage
  4. Just read the title and knew it's a 'must buy'. Thanks for posting this
  5. Love that Jerome Cooper
  6. And that is definitely on my 'to buy' list
  7. It was on my 'to buy list' but I did some sampling online (from one of the unmentionable sites) and decided to relegate it to the 'one day, maybe' list. I'll be interested to hear if you, the dogs or even Mrs C eventually come to love it I'm now hearing Akira Sakata playing on 'Young Americans', interesting isn't the word...
  8. Heiner Stadler - Brains On Fire, Volume1 [Labor]
  9. Which sums up rather a lot of Poliakoff's recent work. I was looking forward to this one breaking that run...
  10. There was a previous thread, somewhere. I remember posting to it when I saw it the cinema a couple of months ago
  11. Joe Chambers - Double Exposure [Muse]
  12. I'm enjoying 'Years and Years'. I think it's an interesting attempt to address some important ideas but within an accessible family drama. It fails when it does mostly because the issues are too foregrounded. The Thompson character is very disconcertingly reflective of today's reality of Farage, Robinson and co. I think the character is less Trump and more identifiable as in an English nationalist\fascist tradition of Mosley et al
  13. Thanks for posting. A good read and overview. This was the phrase that really made me wonder "the family traveled in a VW bus...which Cherry redesigned so that he could sit in the lotus position behind the wheel, using his hands to work the brakes" Great improvisation
  14. The vocal tracks are great, Twible at his best and the choir is superb. The Fela tribute is a highlight. Loving this
  15. Mine's arrived. Straight in the player, sounding great. Nicely packaged, obviously a lot of thought and care has gone it producing thi
  16. Has anyone got a copy of this they want to offload? Would like it to be as clean as possible. And yes, I do realise it's available on CD.
  17. That's it indeed. There are some advantages of living here...
  18. Root canal and extraction £62. Glad I'm not a performer and happy with roguishly inscrutable smile
  19. Yeah, Hamer really stood out on the first listen, more so than Harriott himself. "Reg, give the bloke his trumpet back in one piece, will ya"
  20. Indeed. I'm going for the gappy smile option...too old to care now
  21. Yes, I was going to note something about the power of the music overcoming the 'limited' sound quality... I blame GP for the purchase of this, wine in hand watching Jazz 625 thinking "why haven't I got that Harriott LP?". The joy of internet shopping, with wine
  22. I'm in the midst of the self same dental treatment so I feel your pain. I am also very very grateful for our National Health Service looking at your costs
  23. Joe Harriott Quintet - Swings High [Cadillac]
  24. I'm a big fan of those Family albums and a few of the others on that list. This makes me think I should head over to Spotify to check out the names I don't know. Always an education, John
