  1. Which makes it even weirder as the album I'd been listening to previously was her 'Transfiguration'...
  2. I have no idea but I'm very keen to find out. Any Brown from that time will have me investigating. Another live release like the Giuffre perhaps
  3. Thank you for posting this. I was wondering what to listen to, saw this and thought "why not?". Thoroughly enjoying it, Leon T, Flora P, I had no idea! Last time I listened to Santana was probably "Moonflower' or 'Abraxas' in 1976 or thereabouts....I had no idea they were this Jazzy. A revelation!
  4. I didn't know about Elixir. Now I do I may have to chase down a copy

Understood. Just render away I saw Neneh most recently with The Thing. Have to say there wasn't much reminiscent of when I saw Cherry with Ward and Helias Glad she was good.

I wouldn't normally link to this site as I believe it transgresses Board rules but there's no longer a download link so I think it's OK to do so There's discussion of the concert etc in the comments and a mention of the release you linked to http://inconstantsol.blogspot.com/2018/06/don-cherry-universal-silence-berlin.html I also came across this

I'd seen it, assumed it was a boot and moved on but I am tempted.
  8. Lloyd McNeill - Treasures [Baobab Record Co.] my introduction to this beautiful album today. Sounds Of The Universe are about to reissue it too
  9. https://bombmagazine.org/articles/amina-claudine-myers/ Interview with George Lewis from 2006. I found it interesting
  10. Two very interesting reissues seem to have snuck out. 'Opium For Franz' and 'Flaps'. CD and vinyl. https://www.discogs.com/Franz-Koglmann-Bill-Dixon-Opium-For-Franz/release/13092851 https://www.discogs.com/Franz-Koglmann-With-Steve-Lacy-Flaps/release/232656 Both are must buys for me
  11. You really don't get it, do you? Or maybe you do but you're being deliberately obtuse. Threats don't need to be achievable to be unpleasant, even disconcerting and unnecessary in a forum that should have a level of decent behaviour
  12. Really? How does it come to this that you feel you need to question someone's mental health with no apparent evidence? Keep digging, the hole's obviously not big enough yet
  13. It appears I bailed out of that thread before it all kicked off - just wasn't interested enough in the groups' music. Now I read the linked threads and I'm more than astounded that such behaviour was allowed - no moderation indeed. Having read that, I'm not at all surprised Paul decided to remove himself from such an environment.
  14. Lloyd McNeill - Tori [Baobab] very pleased to finally own a copy of this. Thanks John.
  15. Dewey Redman - Musics [Galaxy]
  16. Sergio Mendes & Brasil '77 - Primal Roots [A&M]
  17. I hope he's OK and taking a rest. I really miss his eclectic posts in the 'Listening to...' threads and his depth of know;edge across genres. Always struck me as a gentleman in his online persona.
  18. Michael White - Pneuma [Impulse] thanks to felser
  19. That is a shame. I have some good releases from them. Mind you I haven't bought anything from them for a few years ...
  20. I agree, he'll play if fit but I think the lesson from before was if he's really fit. I'm seeing the Yankees in the upcoming London Series. Hope some of them are still fit (not that I'll know one from another) or see them from the crow's nest seat I have
  21. Hannibal and the Sunrise Orchestra - Live In Lausanne [Baystate]
  22. Arsenal fans (a cross borne by Clunky, I believe) probably still don't think that If Kane is fit for the final it will present Pochettino with a very interesting decision. When Kane last came back from injury, some say too early, it seemed that the team faltered from the good run they'd enjoyed in his absence..
