  1. I would love to see footage of Groove. AND too cool that you played with an iconic blues rhythm section. Those guys have something special, imho. Looks like you are rubbing shoulders with some heavy cats these days.... watch out! g
  2. ..and just in time for Holiday Shopping! Being lowly independent artists we can do this: Root Doctor on Cdbaby
  3. Root Doctor does the Soulful Blues Friday Nov 17th at 9:00 pm And organissimo lays down the greaze doing that vodoo that they do... on Saturday Nov 18th at 9:30 Andy's Jazz 11 E Hubbard Chicago IL Hope to meet some Chicago forum members on Friday. I wont be able to hang on Saturday this time down though.
  4. This looks like a great stocking stuffer. (I have big stockings) <insert your own joke here>
  5. The twisted irony of the K-fed "debacle" is not lost on me. They paint him as a loser and he wins. More attention than Iraq. Got to love the media.
  6. Fodder For Ex-Wife Jokes I have a feeling this might get moved over to the Political arena, but I don't view it as essentially a political matter. (yet)
  7. Melvin is huge with the jam banders. So is "acid jazz" in general. If they can do the hippy dance...they are there. g
  8. The sound guy last Friday said the same thing, btw. LOL
  9. Thanks for asking. Well, still can't straigthen it all the way out, but we got through the gig. Skin is pretty much healed up. Thing about me and the guitar, I don't have the zen like calmness of Joe. Plus with the major third bends I occassionally go for...OUCH! Our drummer, just today, was laughing about how hard I was playing, "I was waiting for that thing to fall off...". So I got through last friday. But then I threw my back out in major way Monday morning and it has been out all week. Now on painkillers and muscle relaxers so, tomorrow night should be interesting. Jimmy has to have back surgery next week..man, good thing we are not pro ball players. So the finger is doing well...yet, I am still refusing to touch the new axe. I want it to sound decent when I play it. Hope all is well. g
  10. Nice Recital! Uh... Jim should get earrings like those.
  11. Two cds to really test out that system. While not remastered classics, they are very well mastered contemporary works Organissimo: This Is The Place Root Doctor: Been A Long Time Coming As shameless as this is, they really are very well produced releases. So, I've been told, by some pretty heavy cats in the industry. Recorded through the Muscle Shoals Neve consel and mastered onto tape by Glenn Brown. Glenn's Website Check out Glenn's creds and his custom built monitors! I don't have a good system here. But will upgrade one day.
  12. Nobody expects the Public Inquistion? oh wait..that is Spanish... uh nevermind
  13. Can you play "Rumble" and "40 Miles of Bad Road"? lol... This thing is a beauty though. I actually played guitar, just two weeks after the surgery, for about 20 minutes or so today. Skin is healed up, and the finger almost bends all the way (left index, frettin hand). Got a gig in Muskegon this Friday...not sure if I will make it. I have to figure out how to post pictures here. g
  14. My father got this after I relayed Chuck's advice. He is very happy with it. Oh dear, does this mean that only 'old people', like me (and Chuck?), are buying it? This does not bode well for future sales! However, I suppose you have to be a certain age to even have any vinyl! Our drummer is buying it too. He is only 50!
  15. THE GUITAR CAME TODAY!!!! IT IS AWESOME!!!!
  16. My father got this after I relayed Chuck's advice. He is very happy with it.
  17. Greg_Duke Tomato should have just told Nugent to piss off. BTW have you heard Duke Tomato's new cd? Not really. Have you?
  18. Of all the news worthy events in the world
  19. Hmmmm Well before Jim and I were in Root Doctor they played for Clinton...does that count? I once played for Jeffrey Feiger (attorney for Jack Kevorkian) at the state democratic convention. We played for Mitch Albom (Tuesday With Morrie) on his radio program... I don't know, I think soul stream has a celebrity stream goin' there! Hard to compete with that. Our drummer said in his last band, Ted Nugent showed up and wanted to sit in. His boss Duke Tomato said "but we don't know any of your songs". To which Uncle Ted replied "well I know all of your's". Wasn't a love fest... Oh, Johnny Cash's guitarist (somebody from the Carter family) sat in... but in the audience..I don't know...I play with my eyes closed.
