I like how the mike picks up every little snap of his pick against the pick guard. Whatta pro. Doesn't miss a beat here either He was so powerful as a player. Amazing! I always thought he was too hyper like he was wound up on drugs. And I'm a big Johnny Winter fan, I just thought something was wrong. Not trying to start a flame war, just my opinion. Of course I should check out more of his work instead of dealing heavy handed blows to SRV like he's doing to that poor 12 string. It is no secret that he was a huge coke head. That surely sent him over the top. However, I saw him live after he got off the drugs, and he was more tasteful. So, I am agreeing with you in a way. Drugs will color a players feel. Some Rockbilly is historically amphetemine driven. And frankly much of disco is full of white powder and that stuff often sounds too frenetic and slap-happy to me. Of course, I don't own any disco records, but everytime I get together with Randy he makes me listen to the Village People for some reason.

I wasn't really all that moved by Gatton when I first heard him...but over the years, he's unique voice and quirkiness is becoming very appealing to me. At the risk of stating the obvious, it is horribly sad that he couldn't see the joy he was bringing to others. g

Chicken Picken Paradise Albert Lee, Danny Gatton, and who knew Vince Gill had such formidable chops as well. This is a technique that is totally foreign to me, yet one that I really admire. Smokin stuff. g

Yeah, Jimmy and I were riding together coming back from a Root Doctor gig and those tunes were fun. What was that one? Jimmy?? That we improvised our own rather "blue" lyrics to? But seriously, GofM has a great radio voice. Very articulate and smart. Very impresssive!!

Kim Wilson is an amazing talent to me. But, I never seen him or the Tbirds live. Sounds like a enjoyable outing nevertheless. g

Just came back to this to get this link. Our drummer is buying one, and my dad is seriously thinking about it. Whoever invented this thing should get an award of sorts. Great idea. My pop tried doing the phono to cd burner deal, but was scared off by the expensive preamp idea and the cheap ones from Radio Shack sounding bad. g
