  1. I don't think I'm better than anyone. I'm just not going to go through all those threads. Do you know how many threads have been posted here? I'm sure you do. So you *DO* think you're better than those of us who do go to the effort to post to existing threads instead of creating redundant ones. Oh, and your *racist* comments about Obama and Chinese people didn't go over real well, either. Oh, and your *rude* comments to a Canadian board member weren't very appealing. Oh, and your *silly* comments about having explored more jazz and being more knowledgeable about it than people who have been listening since 1940 didn't win you any friends here either, most of whom have been listening to jazz longer than you've been alive.
  2. I think Kenny Weir had a good observation in the Stanko thread: A guarantee: This absolutely will not happen because this guy is ... 1. Too lazy. 2. Too self-observing. 3. Not really interested in a conversation with people, but mostly in having his own views commented upon. Postively or negatively, doesn't really matter. Looking up threads on artists would take time, and besides by posting on earlier threads he would be merely joining a conversation rather than initiating one. Not the same buzz at all, eh? Though I think he meant "absorbed" instead of "observing" in #2.
  3. Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance! (pre-SNL Dieter clip)
  4. Try spellcheck you dickhead! I laughed, I cried, then I laughed alot more.
  5. That one's good!
  6. ...it's available for free if someone trades it to him.
  7. They needed help with that?
  8. Of course - they're parodies of the real motivational posters that were popular a while back. Ah...so they should be called Motivational parodies. <sigh> Yes, yes they should be called motivational parodies. I thought that was sort of self apparent.
  9. Sidd Finch, hands down. I saw him pitch once years ago, for the Corpus Christi Beach Dawgs, in the Continental Baseball League. Still can't believe what I saw that day.
  10. Of course - they're parodies of the real motivational posters that were popular a while back.
  11. Paul Bley - Solo in Mondsee Duke Ellington & Coleman Hawkins (on BMG at the moment, will probably show up at yourmusic shortly)
  12. There are existing threads on Wayne Shorters albums, Wayne Shorter the musician, and Wayne Shorter's compositions. Since you apparently aren't leaving like you promised, please use the search function before starting redundant threads.
  13. Thanks BF! And I'd suggest that the poster add to the existing threads - or at least be courteous and try to check them before starting new ones.
  14. It's not Abercrombie, but do you have the Coryell "Tributaries" album? It includes both Joe Beck and Scofield, all acoustic. Nice recording, with one solo track, a couple of duos, and the rest is all three together.
  15. What's weird? We all like to talk to each other, we have senses of humor (well, that's debatable! ), and threads are allowed to go off topic here. Sometimes better conversations evolve out of tangential comments, sometimes not. It's not a dry, stiff, formal place here.
  16. Since you're new here, you'll get some recommendations to use the search function and add to existing threads, instead of trying to start from scratch. Here are two existing threads with healthy discussion of Stanko: Tomasz Stanko Thread #1 Tomasz Stanko Thread #2 It makes it easier when people are searching for existing threads to find information in one thread instead of 20, IMO. Therefore it doesn't make sense to start a new thread every time a new poster arrives on the scene and think he's creating a discussion that didn't exist before.
