  1. Wish you guys were coming down to Texas this time, Phil!
  2. Thanks for sharing, Paul. Wonderful memories, and wonderful pictures as well. I guess when they say home's never the same when you go back, in your case they mean it. It's easy to tell how the changes shocked you from what you've shared. It's nice you were able to share some of your family history with your son like that. I'd like to do something similar with my kids some day. Thanks.
  3. New Sco album coming out on 18 September, on Emarcy (he's no longer on Verve), titled "This Meets That". It's a trio album (Swallow, Stewart), augmented by horns (Roger Rosenberg - baritone sax and bass clarinet, Jim Pugh - trombone, Lawrence Feldman - tenor sax and flutes, and John Swana - trumpet and flugelhorn). Also Bill Frisell guests on one track. (IMO) He's played well on the 3 of his more recent recordings (Shades of Jade, Trio Beyond, and Out Louder), so hopefully this follows suit. 1 The Low Road 4:57 2 Down D 5:35 3 Strangeness In The Night 7:15 4 Heck Of A Job 7:24 5 Behind Closed Doors 5:30 6 The House Of The Rising Sun 7:26 7 Shoe Dog 8:12 8 Memorette 6:35 9 Trio Blues 4:16 10 Pretty Out 4:30 11 (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction 3:13
  4. If you contributed to the discussions on the board, I think folks here would be more inclined to buy from you (especially if you actually offered them here on the board). If you only come to this board to advertise your sales on eBay, then that's basically a form of spamming, isn't it?
  5. My first thought was this was an Onion story or something. If this happens, does Paris suddenly become a commoner? Have to actually work for a living or something?
  6. Conn! Take heed of Ro-Beer's wonderful advice here!!!
  7. Pretty dry well right now... Enrico Rava - Tati Joshua Redman Trio - Back East (showing up on the BMG page, not yourmusic yet) Radiohead - Airbag/How am I driving? ep A bunch of Elvis Costello remasters (how many times has his catalog been remastered??)
  8. If steroids had no effect on a player's performance, why would MLB care about banning them then? (That's a rhetorical question, you don't have to answer, though i'm sure you will). Making one big (i.e. increasing muscle mass) DOES have an effect on the distance a ball travels, and that's why hitters were taking them. It gave them the ability to hit balls further, and turn routine fly-ball-outs into home runs. Guys like Bonds who could hit home runs anyway, suddenly were able to hit MORE of them due to steroid usage. Canseco and Giambi's numbers are inflated as well. As are Mark McGuire's. You can deny it all you want, but it's "patently true" to most people who aren't SF Giants homers. As said before in this thread, it's extremely doubtful you'd be sticking up Bonds if his whole career had been spent elsewhere - with the Twins for instance.
  9. Still waiting on a plausible explanation for this question. Still waiting. I have already answered this question: He has already admitted to using "the clear" when it wasn't against MLB rules to do so. What the hell else do you want....flowers? I'd like you to answer WHY he chose to use them, if they have no effect. edit - as usual, you answered a question that wasn't asked.
  10. You trouble maker.
  11. If teams were not allowed but only individual riders, that might change alot of the strategy as well.
  12. Works for me. Or Bonds could do the right thing and simply retire from baseball today.
  13. You are completely out of your gourd.
  14. In the 2 month old poll I quoted in Post 13 of this thread, only 37% wanted Bonds to break the record. So your argument that these are "new polls" that are doing damage control is also incorrect.
  15. But....but....you yourself have said that steroids dont help baseball players play better. You've been arguing that point throughout this whole thread, seemingly.
  16. Still waiting on a plausible explanation for this question. Still waiting.
  17. No throwing up! In an effort to minimize later cleanup, Aggie87 recommends no mo grub fo MoGrubb.
  18. The difference is that the "thing" that makes Bonds a bad guy is same thing that's causing him to be able to break the record. If he was busted for a DUI, or was a gambler, or a racist even, he still wouldn't be a likable character, but he'd probably be more acceptable as a record holder.
  19. Maybe all the people in this thread used steroids?
  20. Jim Coleman wishes to inform you that Jim Coleman likes jazz.
  21. Aggie87 ponders how one could get one's balls muddied without getting one's entire self muddied in the process. Then Aggie87 realizes he doesn't want to know, and begins pondering whether crop circles could be the work of a cereal killer instead.
  22. The whole world of sports is currently fixated on Bonds, Conn. Turn on ESPN, you'll see. It's a topic that's getting discussed alot, not just here. An unlikable admitted steroid user is going to break the one of the (if not THE) biggest records in all of sports, and take the record away from a dignified man who was worthy of holding the title. Why can't we talk about that?
