  3. I think it's karma for Eli Manning being spoiled and saying he'd never play for the Chargers, back before that draft.
  4. Ok, if you're gonna pull the Jamaican or British spellings on us, shouldn't that be "defencive" too?
  5. I think I missed the humor in your statement the first time around, Reinier. Sorry - had a long day yesterday. Signed, Cheapskate
  6. Thanks for passing judgement there, Reinier. I'm a cheapo when I think things are overpriced. Apparently that makes me someone who doesn't take my jazz seriously. I purchased 21 CDs today by the way, 12 of which were jazz.

Squidco.com $19.95 plus free shipping. Thanks John!
  8. I think Quincy has a good question there. I've noticed alot of folks make multiple posts when listening to a Mosaic box, one post for each disc. That could kind of skew the results...

I'm thinking of ordering Evan Parker's "Topography of the Lungs", but it appears to be unavailable at emanem.com. Can anyone tell me if there are other distributors for Psi recordings? Sorry in advance if this has been discussed in this thread, I can't keep up in here!
  10. I hope everything turns out ok for you, Aric.
  11. The only mashup I've heard was that Queen/50 Cent thing that was available online briefly. It was fun, more because I was hearing music that I was familiar with in a different light. But I'm not sure it holds up over the long run to repeated listening, for me anyway. I haven't been inspired to play it in a long time. Heck, I don't play Queen very often anymore either. I'm wondering if this Beatles mashup thing is something that will get alot of "curiousity" sales, but won't stand up to repeated listening over the long term. If that happens, it may end up being a used cd store staple before too long. Of course I'd be happy to be wrong and have this turn out to be a great cd...
  12. Out of curiousity, can you remind me what it is that you do for a living that causes you to travel so much, and requires you to physically be in all of these places you seem to visit? I will also be keeping good thoughts for Lon and Mrs. Lon.
  13. They're glad it ain't them. Plus, neither are exactly "A" list comedians. Probably taking advantage of some free publicity for themselves.
  14. up.... I just recently picked up the single-disc "Legendary Stockholm Concert" on Natasha, 1993, and am really enjoying the performance! Took me a while to stumble across this disc, but I'm glad I did. Is this a legitimate issue? If not, is there a legitimate issue of these recordings? Is the 4 disc Dragon set legit? Worth upgrading to, sound & content-wise? Does the 4 disc edition include any additional Trane, or is the remainder completely with Stitt?
  15. Knowing in advance how terrible my picking would be, I dropped out prior to the start of the season, just for you Conn.
  16. I think Jade had SS preoccupied when he should have been counting...

  18. If the football gig doesn't work out, at least he's got the steakhouse thing to fall back on.
  19. I agree, he's definitely not earned his big paycheck this season. He was a slacker in the preseason, and hasn't shown the accuracy that he's been known for during the regular season either. Plus his short kickoffs have hurt, giving opponents the ball regularly at around the 30 yrd line. I don't think they'll cut him tomorrow, since the Cowboys have a game on Thursday, but it might not be surprising if he's gone after that. And regarding the game itself, I agree with the talking heads, that it may actually help the Colts as much as the Cowboys. Getting the "perfect season" monkey off their back allows them to focus on getting to the Superbowl, and not worrying about any other goals that dont' really make a difference anyway.
  20. Big upset by the Cowboys over the Colts this afternoon! Great defensive first half, then some good offensive football in the 2nd. I know Big Al's got a man-crush on Tony Romo ( ), and the rest of the football world may be following suit soon. The dude has played great football since taking over. Should be 4-0 as a starter now, except for a fluke of an ending versus the Redskins. He was the 2nd rated QB in the league before the game (behind Manning), and had a better rating in today's game, so he could be the highest rated now. I don't know how the stats work, so we'll see, I guess.
  21. The rust is what makes this set disctinctive! A rustfree box would be a first! But I want it to be my rust.
  22. Do you seriously not understand that Alex meant "why is this strange" as in "why do you consider this unusual"? I know what he meant, he has been very outspoken about his disdain for religion. If you're suggesting that in Alexander's world this should be considered *not unusual*...well, that's a world I don't want any part of. It IS unusual, it is NOT the norm.
  23. I don't understand. Why is this strange? A priest tried to take advantage of the defenseless. Hasn't this been happening since Day One, A.D.? Do you seriously not understand that this is a bad thing, or "strange"? Or is this just another opportunity to laugh about things, like you did a while back when that minister's wife killed him and left their children fatherless? Those that believe in God hold priests to a little higher standard than you clearly do. The fact that there are some that have problems (or take advantage of their position and inflict problems on others) is cause for concern.
  24. Ok, curiousity has the better of me, and I've gone and listed a newly created email address for sale on ebay (1 day sale). We'll see how this works out.
  25. here's another for a PS3 email address.... 16 minutes left, and the bidding is already over $700 what the heck's going on?? edit - winning bid for this email address was $1000.00.
